and lets you share your broadband Internet connectionÂ? The Pre-N design helps combat distortion and interference and can be used in public wherever there is a hotspot.
Wireless Pre-N Notebook Network Card connects your notebook computer to your wireless network with new Belkin Pre-N technology. It lets you share your broadband Internet connection farther and faster than ever. Featuring smart antenna technology, the Pre-N design helps combat distortion and interference so the Network Card can send its data streams greater distances, more reliably. With a Belkin Wireless Pre-N Router as the central connection point of your network, your computers can share your high-speed Internet account as well as files, printers, and hard drives. While on the road, you can use the Belkin Wireless Pre-N Network Notebook Card to connect to any of the increasingly available public wireless hotspots found in airports, coffee shops and hotels. (For these connections, you do not need a wireless router). Belkin's Pre-N technology offers backward compatibility with existing 802.11g and 802.11b products, to provide seamless integration into existing wireless networks. In fact, its advanced technology enables Belkin Pre-N products to significantly improve the performance of standard 802.11g and 802.11b devices in the mixed network environment.Main Specification:Product DescriptionBelkin Wireless Pre-N Network Notebook Card network adapterDevice TypeNetwork adapterForm FactorPlug-in moduleInterface (Bus) TypeCardBusLocalisationUnited KingdomData Link ProtocolIEEE 802.11b, IEEE 802.11g, IEEE 802.11n (draft)Data Transfer Rate108 MbpsNetwork / Transport ProtocolTCP/IP, IPX/SPX, AppleTalk, UDP/IP, NetBEUI/NetBIOSFrequency Band2.4 GHzCompliant StandardsIEEE 802.11b, IEEE 802.11gSystem RequirementsMicrosoft Windows 2000 / XPManufacturer WarrantyLimited lifetime warranty USB Adapters

Based on the 802.11n draft, N Wireless enables multiple receivers and transmitters to send and receive data using Intelligent MIMO (Multiple Input Multiple Output) spatial multiplexing techniques, which greatly increases speed, coverage, and the reliability of the wireless network.
...The BelkinWirelessNotebookCard is a good product. the card is only for LAPTOPS not for computers. the good thing about this product is that just say your in your bedroom or in your kitcen or maybe in your garden you can use the internet without any wires and no hassle at all. but you have to remember you need to have a belkinwireless internet network to make this product work for your laptop. I have my very own BelkinWireless G Notebookcard and it runs as fast as when i use to have an ethernet connection i.e. cable internet connection. When i bought my newtwork card it cost me £25.00 but on ciao they are giving you a really good price for it so i recommend buying the product. if you have any questions please let me know and i will be at assistance
Hope I Was Useful

Advantages: Easy to install Disadvantages: Crashes my machine!
...I bought the Belkin range of products so I could setup a wi-fi network at home.
I have the Belkin 54g Router and also have a Belkin 11g card in my desktop at home, so with this set-up successfully I bought the 54g notebookcard for my laptop.
All were fairly easy to setup but I imagine it could be tricky if you have no networking knowledge.
So all installed and ready to go.
My laptop has never been the same since. I manage to work for between 10 - 60 mins then it's crash time, computer screen just freezes!
This happens around 5 - 10 times a day something that never happened prior to the installation of this card.
So technical support i thought, wrong!
After waiting for around 45 mins on the dedicated support line I ended up putting the phone down.
Email them. So i emailed them with my problem. Around 4 days later I get...

Advantages: Excellent free telephone help line Disadvantages: Not easy to set up without help
...I bought a Wireless USB Network Adaptor for my PC and a card for my laptop and followed the instructions. After a long struggle, I rang the FREE help line and was emailed up-to date drivers....the ones on the CD supplied with the hardware are out of date!!
I still could not get the 2 machines to "see" one another and so called the help line again. They were extremely helpful and eventually we got it to work. It was necessary to uninstall the original drivers that came on the CD and then install the updated ones.
Since then the connection has been rock solid with no problems at all.
I have yet to tackle sharing the Broadband connection as Belkin do not help with this and nor does BT.
So, all in all, I am happy but would not want to have to set it up again!!...

Wireless networking is great. I know it's stating the obvious, but it's just so great that it's worth pointing out.
Despite being great, wireless networking is not without its problems. Bandwidth, interference, range and security are all common areas... more

I wish I'd read the reviews of this product before I bought, I usually do when purchasing new computer components but for some reason didn't this time... More fool me.
