...I purchased a Belkin SurgePro for the protection of my new Computer on 31st March 2004. I am very pleased with the quality of the product and having a metal construction it makes it ideal for heavy duty work (unlike me just having it for my computer). It has a long lead (5m) and has lights to tell you its on and that it is protected. It also comes with product insurance so if you do get a surge/spike and it damages something you have plugged into it you can claim (I dont know how easy it is to claim as I have not had any problems). The price is very good under £15 most places, so you get a lot for your money ie 5 meter lead and 6 sockets. The only problem I would say is that the hole protectors get in the way when plugging in large plugs (speakers etc) so for such a good product its a shame belkin didn't notice this! You can get... ...High voltages are alwas lethal, and you're computer is just as vunerable as you. Get Protected! A surge protector is a must for any home or office computer user, as not only can the high voltages from a power spike or surge kill you're computer they can pass on to you!. I think the Belkin SurgeMaster should be the stardard when it comes to protection. As it is affordable, well designed, and packs all the nessary features to protect your equipment. I personally like the way all the outlets are well spaced out, it gives it the ability to have those large printer / scanner power supplies into it, without having to sacrifice the outlets next to it. On purchase I examined the product scrupulously and the only minor thing I noticed was that on the Ethernet input there was a tiny slither of plastic which could simply be pulled off. Apart from that extremely minor fault with my SurgeMaster, the construction is perfect, it is as simple as that. Installation ---------------- Within the box for this product there is a massive poster-sized setup guide that depicts each step of the installation process where you are using either a PC, Mac or notebook PC.
