Manufacturer's product description
The OmniView SE is the ideal solution for system administrators, computer technicians and power users for hassle-free control over multiple computers without the additional expense of duplicate keyboards, monitors and mice. Its slim, compact size, and use of standard cables simplify connection to AT and PS/2-style computers. The OmniView SE features Integrated Mouse Conversion Technology which allows PCs with PS/2 or serial mouse ports to be controlled from a single PS/2 mouse. Other CPU switches would require having both a PS/2 and a serial mouse connected. Furthermore, the 180MHz video bandwidth permits video resolutions up to 1280 x 1024 at 80 Hz vertical refresh rate without noticeable degradation. In addition, the 4-port SE can also be cascaded for control over a maximum of 64 computers. And if you need to control a Macintosh computer, the OmniView Mac Adapter can be used for even more versatility. For the small office, power user or even large enterprise networks, controlling multiple computers is now easier and more affordable with the OmniView SE!

Advantages: Quick and easy to set up Disadvantages: Video may get interference
...I've had this KVMswitch for a number of years now, since my previous one only had two ports. I found this one fairly cheap somewhere. You're supplied with all the VGA and PS2 cables for each of the 4 connections. You can then plug these cables into your computers. The button on the top allows for quick switching.
But as well as using the button for switching between computers, you are also able to use keyboard shortcuts. These are pretty common in KVMswitches, and belkin manage to do it the same way as everyone else. Great for people that are already used to using a KVMswitch. The KVMswitch has a useful beep, which can be helpful to understand when a command was received by the switch.
The switch also has a port for plugging in power. This helps improve the quality of the picture as there is more power behind it. Most of the time...

Advantages: Price, quality, ease of setup, looks Disadvantages: none
...I've just installed this great keyboard and mouse wireless set.
It is great - the mouse is optical and the keyboard, well made.
One vital piece of information: this keyboard works seamlessly with a KVM. I have a Belkin 2 portKVM and it set up perfectly.
Some of the Logitech wireless sets do not support KVMswitches and in fact one in particular does not have a "scroll lock" key - which is the hot-key for switching between the computers connetced to the switch.
So, in short, if you are looking to have a wireless keyboard and mouse and need a PS/2 connection and are using a KVM (Belkin or otherwise) and are on a budget - you simply cannot go wrong with this set....

Advantages: price, simplicity Disadvantages: no USB keyboard/mouse connector
...This product does exxactly what it says on the tin.
It lets you view and control two computers from one monitor, keyboard and mouse.
It is PS2 only though and not USB - so if you have a very new PC without PS2 ports then this one is not for you - look on this site for one with USB connectors.
Switching between machines is simple, just one key press to switch.
One word of warning, if you plan to use this to just connect up the monitor cable and not use the keyboard and mouse connections (as I tried) it will not work as the device needs to collect power from all 4 connectors. With just 2 connected it suffers from lock ups. Tech Support soon helped me sort this out though ;)
When connected as specified however it works perfectly!...

This device is a classic example of taking a simple idea and doing it well, rather than packing it over the top with features and getting carried away with it. It is simply a network router and switch to share an internet connection between multiple... more
