Belkin PRO Series Parallel Switchbox Cable - parallel cable - 3 m

...find was the Belkin PRO series. This basically means that it has 2x the amount of protective sheath around the cable so that nothing can get through and distort the signal. Belkin are one of the leaders in computer products, they make everything from routers to cables and I have a few of their products and they have never gone wrong for me, so I trust them and their products. I went to my local computer shop and got this cable for the very reasonable price of £3.50. Since this is just a cable there isn't much I can write about it. You plug it into the computer and then into the back of your TV or monitor and it works, there's nothing else too it. Although Belkin have released a few inferior products in the past, this cable brings thenm right back up again. Category 5 cable such as this is the highest-quality UTP Cable. It is tested at 100MHz, allowing it to run high-speed protocols such as 100Mbps Ethernet and CDDI. Category 5 Cable also uses either 22 or 24 AWG unshielded twisted-pair wire and impedance of 100ohms. It connects with RJ45 connectors (avaiable cheaply) RJ-45 connectors look a bit like a standard phone connector but are twice as wide (with eight wires). ...This is a very, very good piece of kit IF you can get it to work! It has an in-built 'auto-connect' facility which seldom works and with the 3 networks I have had to install them on, it needed to be hard wired to a PC and connected that way (rather than connecting to the network as Belkin advise). For the price, you cant really grumble, especially if the alternative is installing messy CAT5 cable, or if that is not even an option. It has managed to extend my wireless range (from a Belkin G+ Router) by about 70 meters, with 3 large buildings in . If you can navigate your way around SSID and Security setting issues, it is a useful, and stable bit of hardware!... Read review
