Belkin Network adapter is a dodgy pen

Advantages: Quick setup
Disadvantages: Connection lost easily

The best way i could describe this wirless Network adapter pen is like when you have a pen that write one minute and then the next you think you out of ink, but in reality theres just a shortage of ink for a few minutes then it comes back. well in my opinion the signal is exactly like this. I purchased this because i have an old toshiba laptop with no built in wireless, It was very easy to install, i mean 10 minutes tops and lets be honest no one like waiting around! But the software that comes with the pen in my opinion is rubbish, if you have a computer with vista id just plug it in and let vista do the rest! The main problem i found with this pen was that the signal kept dissapearing, and no one likes it when their internet dissapears! On the positive side the pen is small and can be easily sliped in you pocket or laptop bag ...

Belkin Wireless G - Cheap and cheerful wireless adapter

Advantages: Cheap, connects to routers of all types I have tried
Disadvantages: Breaks easily, driver problems in Vista

'belkin driver' in google, the first link that comes up is the official Belkin driver download site. It immediately takes you to a 3 step guide to installing the correct driver. First you have to read the FFC ID, which is in minuscule writing on the back of the device. Although, the website shows you exactly where to look, it is still hard to physically read the font. Once you have found out which version to pick, the driver is downloaded and finally installed. Connectivity I find that the Belkin adapters don't have brilliant connectivity, but are quite able to pick up adequate signaI in the house. I have connected with a Belkin Wireless G USB adapter to a Belkin router, as well as a US robotics router and BT home hub, it picks up many networks local to the computer. Advantages: wireless, compatible with a range of wireless routers, good price, small size, lifetime guarantee
Disadvantages: so far i have not been able to find any disadvantages with this particular product

I bought this product to use with my BT total broadband home hub. It was easy to install the software and worked immediately. The belkin software is good for configuring the adapter but unneccesary with more wireless routers as it picks up the signal with the help of windows anyway. the product is small and has a stand so it can be conveiniently stored out of the way and out of sight. The range is pretty good as my adapter picks up 7 different signals from wireless routers in my neighbourhood. The signal is always constant with no annoying breaks at all and is always very fast The product is guaranteed for life so should there ever be any problem with it it will be replaced by the retailer or belkin without the need to spend any more money.
