the I needed to go away and get a VGA cable to hook it up and that's what I did. Since I have alot of things around my TV (lots of computers things and electricity) I didnt want any sort of crosstalk (disturbance on the cable from other electrical devices- its quite rare now but not unheard of) I made sure that i got a double shielded wire, the best one of these that i could find was the BelkinPROseries. This basically means that it has 2x the amount of protective sheath around the cable so that nothing can get through and distort the signal. Belkin are one of the leaders in computer products, they make everything from routers to cables and I have a few of their products and they have never gone wrong for me, so I trust them and their products. I went to my local computer shop and got this cable for the very reasonable price of £3 ...
Advantages: gives you an extra 1.8 meters on any USB product Disadvantages: none
that could connect my headset to the computer and let me use it, and this is what I did.
I trudged down to my local PC world and paid a little money for a 1.8 meter BelkinProSeries USB ExtensionCable and was very very happy with it when I got home. It supports all standard USB ports with its well made male plug (the bit that goes into the computer) and on the other end of the cable has a nice thick female port (the bit that you will stick your USB device in) I have had no problems with this cable at all, it doesn't suffer from any lag and because it has a thick cable it doesn't snap or damage if you catch it with you feet while its laying ...
buy one of these online though you could probably get one for just a few pounds with postage included so this is what id do.
Altogether it’s a great cable, belkin are a good make and its one you can be sure will really last a life time if you treat it right. ...

Manufacturer's product description
They're never long enough. It almost makes it to my computer, but an inch in front of the plug I run out of cable. That's why I'm glad Belkin makes an extension cable to keep life simple. The Extension Cable Straight-through, 25 Conductor is most commonly used to extend the length of an existing DB25 cable assembly, but it can also be used as a PC to serial modem cable.
