Don't skimp on cable!

Advantages: Good sound
Disadvantages: Nothing spectacular

Cable is very important when setting up your hifi system, you should always budget at least 10% of the cost of all your hifi cost to spend on cables, without decent quality cables the performace of your system can dramatically suffer. This cable is 16 gauge, the lower the number the thicker the cable, the thicker cable the better. This is made from oxygen free copper of 99.99% purity - as good as it gets with this size of cable. This cable is pretty good value, when I bought this cable last year, it was £20 for the 30 metres. The cable is more than good enough for most standard hifi sytems, but if your speakers allow to be bi wired ( having 2 cables per speaker) it is best to use dedicated bi-wire. Belkin Power Cable

Advantages: Works perfectly, Fits Snug, Lengthy enough
Disadvantages: None

I bought this for plugging in my computer because the power supply I had to buy did not include one. There isn't much to say on a power cable so this is about all I could think of. My main reasons for choosing this where because I knew Belkin is a very respectable brand for when it comes to electronic connector cables and its length suited my needs perfectly. I found that the cable fits very snugly into the back of my computer so that when it gets knocked about for some reason (kicking from mad frustration during games :) ) then it does not fall out. It is easily strong enough to hold its own weight in so it doesn't pull itself out- which is a problem one of my crappy computer monitors was having.
