Advantages: Very versatile, handy, and easy to use Disadvantages: A bit more expensive than some other "cheaper" hubs
...The Belkin USB BusStation is an extremely easy way to expand your USB ports / serial / com / ps2 / Ethernet ports. The basic package comes as a 4 bay stackable system, with one base 4 port USB hub, and 3 other 1 port USB hubs. All are removable and can be exhanged for other Belkin hub products. This means total diversity. You could, for example, have 4 x 4 port USB hubs (a 16 port USB hub in total).
The BusStation has it's own power supply, providing a true 500 mA per port current, with an overload protection system on each port.
Currently, Belkin are giving a £5 rebate back if you send off the barcode on the bottom (or a £10 rebate if you send off the barcodes from a BusStation and one other Belkin hub product).

Advantages: Great if you dont have USB 2.0 Disadvantages: USB 2.0 is faster
...A USB peripheral switch are useful items they will allow you to connect items such as camera's, scanners, external hard drives, mobile phones, PDA's etc to your laptop or personal home computer. This USB peropheral switch has only got two ports where most have a minimum of four ports and USB connections on modern PC's and laptops are supplied with USB 2.0 which is a faster system and therefore more efficient.
My conclusion is that this is a dated product that you can obtain a superior model unless you need it for connection with an the older USB 1.1 system, then Belkin is a great and trust worthy manufacturer, and this would be suitable to connect to your PC or Laptop and then to any of the items mentioned above.
Belkin are renound for the customer service standards though you should not need to use this as there products are extremely...

Advantages: Good looking and works well. Disadvantages: No broadband connection point
...Being a novice in networking i set out to find somthing cheap and simple that would a job and not complain. All it needed to do was sit there and not give me any problems.
When looking at this switch, it seemed an unusual shape as most network switches/hubs were just boxes. It arrived and was easy to use (thanks to win. xp), the sotware that came with it did nothing at all though. It now sits on the floor, doing a job, not giving me any problems at all.
Im not an expert, but the price seemed reasonable for what i was getting.
I didnt have a problem with the fact that i couldn't connect the modem to the switch, as i just connect through one of the computers.
It is a good shape that has the function of making easy to interconnect other belkin products....
