I bought this USB network adaptor for my son when he still had his Windows 98 machine as the PCI card that I reviewed previously was too advanced for his hardware. This USB adapter was bought to connect to my Belkin wireless router meaning that I now had a wireless network consisting only of Belkin hardware.
--Whats in the box--
On opening the box, there were no real surprises. There was the USB adapter, a stand which would allow you to place the adapter on your desk if you didnt want to have it plugged directly into the back of your PC, the antenna, a quick installation guide and a CD which contained the drivers and a full manual.

I recently bought a Belkin wireless adaptor when I went into a house share and needed to have the internet. I use the internet but I know little about the technical side of things. I paid £19.99 for the adaptor in PC world who only had Belkin at the time which I thought was not expensive. However installing it was a nightmare.
The 3 easy steps on the box seemed so easy; Install the software, plug the adaptor into a USB PORT - start networking! If only it was that simple. Every time my computer searched for a network it crashed. I phoned the Belkin company who took me step by step through the technical part and still we could not get internet. Eventually the Belkin assistant told my for some reason my computer was not recognising the new network. Being increasingly frustrated I considered taking the adaptor back for a refund ...
Advantages: Ecconomical Disadvantages: Not heavy duty
This is an exceptionally easy product to conect to your PC, with no reboot required. It also come swith an attractive stand allowing you to easily position for optimal anywhere on your desk, unlike other similar devises which comes with an usb extention cable with you have to find somewhere to stick it to.
If you use your PC for extended periods or leave it on all the time like I do, this is not the product for you. As it is simply not heavy duty enough, and due to it's ecconomical design can burn out, like mine did.
However if you simply want to surf the net and play the occasional game this more than adequite.
For the ecconomical price it is a good buy however if you use your computer constantly it will be worth investing in something a bit more hard wearing. ...
