Belkin Sport Armband For iPod nano Arm pack MP3 Player

The armband is made of a smooth stretchy material not dissimilar to the material of a wet suit - neoprene - which is durable and waterproof so it can be used in the rain (not underwater). The iPod nano slides into an opening at the top and there is a small hole at the bottom so that your headphones can be plugged in. There is a second hole so that the 'lock' button can be toggled to prevent the controls on the iPod from accidentally being pressed.

The holder for the iPod nano has a clear plastic front so that you can see the display and use the clicker wheel as normal. I have found some problems with this plastic front - once you get a little sweaty from running etc. the clicker wheel gets very difficult to use as your finger slips too easily over the plastic. I usually set up play lists so do not have to change the track but on the occasions I have needed to, I find this very frustrating as I have to remove the iPod from the armband.

The armband is secured around your arm with a Velcro strap looped through an oblong of metal. It feels very secure once it is on and there is enough stretch in the material not to make it feel too tight. After a few months of using the armband (and some copious sweating!) the glue that holds the Velcro to the armband material started to disappear and the Velcro came loose. However, both ends of the Velcro are securely sewn on and, despite it being in this state for a number of months, I have not had any problems securing the armband and feel confident it is not going to cause me a problem.

Lastly, there is an opening on the strap so that a key can be placed in. I have used this once and, whilst is did feel safe and secure to use, I prefer to put my keys in a zipped pocket in my shorts. It is also hand washable making it great to be able to remove all that perspiration!

This armband has been extremely useful for me as I need to feel that my iPod is secure to be able to concentrate on my work out. It's a good product but some thinking needs to be done about the issues with the plastic front preventing the click wheel being used once you have sweaty hands.
