Belkin G+ Mimo wireless router
Advantages: Wireless with 4 wired ports. Good range and speed. Disadvantages: Seems to be a bit unstable when playing games

Following contact with the belkin support team over the disconnections problems, I found they are rubbish and dont seem to understand either English or the questions being asked as they replied with the same 'solution' three times. Their 'solution' was not actually anything to do with the problems I was having! I have now taken this router back and exchanged it for a Netgear WPN824 which has not had any problems with connection at all (but thats ... more
I recently bought this router along with a new wireless enabled laptop (Toshiba A210-17I). I opted for this model as it also includes 4 wired ports (I play my Xbox 360 online and prefer it to be 'hard wired'. The unit is nice and light and looks smart in its silvery grey colour. It has two antenna's and is G+ Mimo, which basically means it is slightly faster and has a better range than a normal G+ router. My internet connection is upstairs and I have no problem connecting anywhere within the house (its too cold to try outside :). Installation and set up of the router was simple and easy to follow instructions are provided to assist in doing this. Basically, attach the router to the modem, then run the set up disc and hey presto! you are connected! Maintenance/settings of the router is carried out by entering the IP address into internet explorer and an easy to follow, user friendly interface is displayed. General surfing and download speeds do not seem to of been affected since attaching this router to my network (my old router was wired only). The only down point I have is it seems to a bit unstable when playing games. I have had some problems with disconnections from game servers during game play as the connection seems to drop every now and again. I have not noticed this while surfing the internet however. In general, this is a great product and works well with Windows Vista and has a great range. I would probably not recommend it to someone who is going to be doing a lot of gaming through it due to the connection instability.
Review update!

Advantages: Easy to install and good range Disadvantages: Can sometimes lose signal altogether!
grey/silver colour and is quite compact - the whole thing is just under 15cms long and only 7cms wide and is quite flat too. The aerials are two small stumps attached to the back with one on either side that can be moved up or down so it isn't an eye sore where ever you have it!
Price:
For my router I paid £50 from Argos which is not too bad but do shop around as prices may have gone down by now since I bought mine last year.
Overall opinion:
I would recommend anyone who uses a laptop to get themselves wireless as it is so much nicer to sit in on the sofa working than it is to sit at a desk and when it's nice outside it's a bonus to be able to sit in the fresh air. Also another plus to this router is that Belkin sell it with a lifetime warranty. ...
Advantages: Good range Disadvantages: Advanced set up screen- not for complete novice
I've had this router for some time now and I have to say, apart from the slightly advanced set up screen, the speed and range is excellent.
When you first set the router up you have to go into a browser based log in screen which enables you to enter your ISP user name and password. You must also select the appropriate connection type and although I found this relatively straight forward being a seasoned pc user I do know that people such as my grandparents would find this very confusing. There is however a program which you can download which takes you through step by step so all is not lost.
Compared to the Netgear super G I found this router to have a vaster range and good connectivity. ...
