Advantages: Cheap, connects to routers of all types I have tried Disadvantages: Breaks easily, driver problems in Vista
'belkin driver' in google, the first link that comes up is the official Belkin driver download site. It immediately takes you to a 3 step guide to installing the correct driver. First you have to read the FFC ID, which is in minuscule writing on the back of the device. Although, the website shows you exactly where to look, it is still hard to physically read the font. Once you have found out which version to pick, the driver is downloaded and finally installed.
Connectivity
I find that the Belkinadapters don't have brilliant connectivity, but are quite able to pick up adequate signaI in the house. I have connected with a BelkinWirelessGUSBadapter to a Belkin router, as well as a US robotics router and BT home hub, it picks up many networks local to the computer. The connectivity decreases as you get further away from the router ...
Advantages: makes connecting to live wireless Disadvantages: very high price
i bought this for £50 second hand, and i found it very easy to use and it connected to my modem in minutes, but i know not everyone connects it as easy as i did, infact i couldnt connect it to my old router when i first got an xbox 360, so then i went for the ethernet cable method which is ideal if the router is in the same room as the xbox 360 because its much cheaper, gauranteed to work and normally makes connection better, but in my case i had a 30m ethernet cable running down my stairs which is not ideal! therefore when i bought my xbox 360 back i wanted to get it sorted with the networkadapter.
THINGS I LIKE ABOUT THE ADAPTER:
its a easy method of connecting up to xbox live if it will connect to the router
its small and as a nice slot at the back of the xbox 360
theres a light which is green if its working and red if its ...
Advantages: Cheap Disadvantages: Not enough information on software or packaging.
I recently bought a Belkinwireless adaptor when I went into a house share and needed to have the internet. I use the internet but I know little about the technical side of things. I paid £19.99 for the adaptor in PC world who only had Belkin at the time which I thought was not expensive. However installing it was a nightmare.
The 3 easy steps on the box seemed so easy; Install the software, plug the adaptor into a USB PORT - start networking! If only it was that simple. Every time my computer searched for a network it crashed. I phoned the Belkin company who took me step by step through the technical part and still we could not get internet. Eventually the Belkin assistant told my for some reason my computer was not recognising the new network. Being increasingly frustrated I considered taking the adaptor back for a refund ...
