Microsoft wireless mouse & keyboard

Advantages: looks smart, easy to install & use, responsive
Disadvantages: batteries wear out quickly

I purchased this wireless mouse and keyboard set when I got a new computer as I thought it would look smarter and more modern than the wire mouse and keyboard that came with it. I chose this set as I felt that Microsoft had a good reputation and, at £30, this represented good value for money. This was easy to connect up with the computer, just a simple plug in to the front of the box. That was all that was required to install. The mouse and keyboard each take two batteries. I find that the batteries wear down really quickly. This is frustrating, especially when typing where letters can be missed out in your work, or quite often, the space bar won't function. The batteries in the mouse wear out especially quickly. Having said that, this is the only flaw I can find with the product. The keyboard is comfortable to type ...

Belkin Wireless Keyboard & Mouse

Advantages: Cheap & Easy to install
Disadvantages: Small Keyboard Buffer

I bought this product about 3 months ago from Staples. It cost me around £20.00 when on offer. I though it was cheap, so I though I would try it. I connected the receiver to my desktop PC, put the batteries into the keyboard and mouse, and connected them. Windows XP installed the hardware automatically, and I started using it. The receiver is incredibly small, and looks quite good. The mouse and keyboard are in a uniform colour, so look good when used together. The keyboard allows me to control the volume of the PC from the keyboard, which can be useful. Also it allows me to control My Documents, My Music, My Pictures, Email and the standby mode. It also allows me to control the video player when watching a film, which is very useful. The 9 buttons (Home, End, Insert, Page Up, Page Down, Delete, Print Screen, Scroll Lock ...

Genius Wireless USB Keyboard and Optical Mouse

Advantages: Wireless, Relativly cheap, Durable, Initially get rechargeable batteries
Disadvantages: Need to eventually buy new batteries, Problems with low power.

essential in all modern mice. It has an optical laser so can be used on any surface. Both the keyboard and the mouse are wireless and their signal is picked up by a smart receiver come battery charger. The feature of being wireless is great for people who use spaces for multiple purposes such as a written work/study area as well as for using a PC. It plugs into a standard USB A slot. The box comes with 6 rechargeable AA batteries, user manual and a driver CD. The rechargeable batteries are a great addition to the pack however I found after a few months of use they did not hold the charge as well and did not last. This means eventually you will be using regular batteries which is obviously more expensive than using wired keyboard and mouse equivalents. When the battery power in either the mouse or keyboard gets low it can lead to ...
