When I first saw the advert for the new Belvita breakfast biscuits I was eager to try them. I do really like eating breakfast as I find that it helps me not to snack in the morning, but I have recently started a new job which requires me to leave the house much earlier so at 6.30am I do not really feel like breakfast. So the idea of the breakfast biscuits that I can eat at my desk or on the bus I thought was a great idea and I was eager to try them.
I feel that the only downside to the breakfast biscuits is the cost as you only get 6 packs of biscuits in the packet which is 6 breakfasts. The biscuits currently cost £2.28 for a box containing 6 packets in Tesco but if you hurry they are currently all half price.
The range in flavours of the Belvita breakfast biscuits have expanded since they were first launched and now you can buy them in the following varieties:
- Honey and Nut
- Fruit and Fibre
- Milk and Cereal
- Crunchy Oats
The biscuits come in a box that contains 6 packets of four biscuits which are wrapped in a clear plastic wrapper. This means that the biscuits are ideal to carry around with you and I will pop a packet into my handbag in the morning to take to work with me.
It states on the box that the biscuits have been specially designed to be eaten for breakfast and are made with 5 different wholegrains which release energy slowly over four hours to keep you going until lunch time. Breakfast has always been known as the most important meal of the day as it helps you to feel less hungry later in the day and helps stop you from feeling the need to snack.
The biscuits are oval shaped and quite thin but they have never broken even when I carry them in my bag. So far I have tried all of the flavours except the crunchy oats and have been very impressed with them. I would say that the Honey and Nut are my favourite so far as they are a little sweeter and have a few chocolate chips scattered in them too which was a pleasant surprise. I tend to eat the breakfast biscuits around 9.00am at work and find that I do not begin to feel hungry again until my lunch at 1.00pm. I was rather surprised by this as the biscuits although you get four of them in a packet are quite light so I was a little pessimistic about the claims of them realising energy slowly over four hours but I have been proved wrong.
Overall I would certainly recommend these Belvita breakfast biscuits for anyone that struggles to find the time for breakfast. They are great to eat on the go or pack in a pocket or bag and really do provide a satisfying breakfast. Also with them being a biscuit they feel like you are being a little naughty eating four biscuits for breakfast but they are not too high in fat or calories and contain wholegrain and added vitamins!
