If mom won't let you own an expensive camera, you could settle for this BenQ.
It is low resolution, but if you are like any other teen, you're probably more interested in getting your photos uploaded to the net. Pretty friendly to use and easy to connect to PC.
The good thing about BenQ is that it produces notebooks as well. So if you wish you could be like your Sony friends, you can! With the BenQ notebook (Joybook actually) to accompany this camera, you have a set going for you. Furthermore, the memory card is MMC/SD which is highly common among gadgets nowadays. No question of compatibilty.
Perhaps you may even consider this cutie for its lightweight and reasonable price.
If you're looking for something savvy and yet of a higher resolution, check out my review on the Casio Exilim Z4 instead.
