...quite upsetting, but considering BenQ make monitors, i suppose you get what you pay for.
If you want a decent entry-level camera, for simple snapping - this is great.
If you want to take decent photographs, for professional reasons - spend the money - it will be worth it. ...

This is my second compact digital camera and after I owned a Sanyo Xacti VPC-S4, with only 4 MP, this one offered me some pretty good features. First of all, the 10.1 MP speak for them self. I was disappointed by the optical zoom facility, witch I consider being to small for a camera with so many MP. I have to admit I was amazed by this camera at the beginning, but then I realized that there are some features that are missing from this model. Indoor ... ... Advantages

* camera supports VGA movie recording with sound, and only sound recording
Disadvantages
* only 3x optical zoom
* no sound in quick succession, so you can't tell when the picture is taken
* if you record a long video, the sound and the image does not synchronize
* when you use Manual Focus, it takes to long to focus, more than 3 seconds ...

The C1000 comes with an extensive range of user- friendly modes which includes PASM mode, 8 second shutter speed night scene mode, quick 4 continuous shot mode and printer mode, delivering an impeccable image quality. The PASM (Program AE/Aperture Priority/Shutter Priority/Manual) mode enables users to manually customize the aperture and shutter speed to one's own preferences. The Program AE mode automatically adjusts the aperture and shutter speed by detecting the lighting conditions; the Aperture Priority mode automatically sets an appropriate shutter speed according to the user's choice of the aperture setting; the Shutter Priority mode does vice-versa. BenQ's 8 second shutter speed night scene mode function enables users to capture pictures with clearer and sharper details that disappear in general shutter speed. Moreover, the quick 4 continuous shot mode provides benefits of capturing continuous motion images and quick moving objects, allowing any moment or movement to be captured, any time, anywhere. The BenQ DC C1000 supports VGA movie recording at 30fps with MPEG4 format and supports PictBridge function which provides direct printing via any PictBridge-enabled printer. In addition, the camera is bundled with 24MB built-in memory and is SD card compatible.
