...caught my eye , the Benq-Siemens E61 mobile phone , given a huge amount of window space heralding its new arrival .
Benq are well known outside the mobile telephone market , but have teamed up with Siemens in an attempt to break into it . All current phones have been designed by Benq and once established lose the Siems name.
So what did it catch my eye , well for starters the colour scheme , orange and black ( just like my old 8k Oric Atmos circa ... ...take care of them . Benq-Siemens , so I have been informed , are soon to make available replacements , plus an adaptor which will allow you to use your own headphones ( these would however probably not have a built-in microphone , thus stopping hands free use ! ) . Bear this in mind before deciding to purchase.

Advantages: Looks/feels nice, phone works fine, nice menus Disadvantages: Poor features, no bluetooth.
How It Looks
Judging from other reviews people don't seem to like this phone very much. I suppose I can understand the vitriol shown in places, but as I was given this phone as a gift, I'm slightly less annoyed by it seeing as I didn't blow a hundred quid on it. However, it's not without its problems. We'll get to those later, for now let's start at the beginning, with the design of the handset. It's quite a nice looking phone, small and with a ... ...design. The orange and black colour scheme sets it apart from the typical metallic/silver colour phones tend to have. It really is nice to hold, however the buttons on the it are perhaps slightly too small, and people with bigger hands might have a bit of trouble using the controls for the menus/"video games". At the top of the phone are various controls for the mp3 player, which we'll come to later.
The screen is a decent size, and is crisp enough. ...

Advantages: Mobile Phone & MP3 Player in One Disadvantages: Crappy Sound Quality and The Whole Thing Broke After 2 Months
Why I Decided To Buy In The First Place? - - - - So I'm one of these people that is always after a bargain. After Waiting ages to get a new mobile phone (nothing wrong with my old nokia 1100 except I was getting laughed at for having such a basic phone) and also wanting to get an MP3 player, I thought this mobile/player was an ace idea.....
Using The Handset Generally - - - - -
From day one I found the whole thing ran slowly - if I selected something ... ...to pop up - try to phone someone - enter a number and the phone seemed to freeze for about 10 seconds - and when I did manage to connect the call I found the quality of the speaker terrible.
Don't get me wrong, the layout of the menus and the coloured screen etc were great - really pleasing to the eye and easy to use - but the continually freezing screen drove me mad.
The handset iteslf was fab looking - modern and not you run of the mill mobile ...

Advantages: Mp3 player and camera Disadvantages: Doesn't have bluetooth or video capture
I was out shopping for my birthday present and i came across a really nice looking phone which was a nice size and was quite light and I really liked for a reasonable amount of money and it had 512mb memory card, mp3 player, handy mp3 buttons on top which added to desirable features and camera. It wasn't until about a month after purchasing the phone that i realised the phone actually wasn't as good as i thought it was all it really did was play ... ...no other extras. When i purchased the phone i was told and it said on the side off the box it could hold 500 songs i was proved very wrong though when i had no space on my memory card after only 102 songs were held on it this ledt o me having enough of the phone. ...

Advantages: Easy to use, Excellent presentation, Above average camera Disadvantages: No memory card slot or headphone jack, Somewhat quiet message alert
...wouldn't advise it, it would probably result in dust collecting on the screen which up till now is clean and dust-free.
The K510i is clearly a very well designed phone from the physical and aesthetic side of things, I would expect no less from Sony.
Is this the right phone for me?
I would like to stress firstly that this is simply a mobile phone which can take some decent photos; it is by no means a full-blown camera or MP3 player. It does both of these things in moderation. (I would suggest the Sony Ericsson K750i if you are looking for a better camera or the SiemensBenQE61 for a dedicated MP3 player, both of which are in a similar price bracket.) It does play MP3s but the built in 27mB of memory will only take 5 songs at the maximum. If you are looking for an above average camera resolution of 1.3 megapixels (compared...
