Wow..a mirror..it really does have everything!
Advantages: Its cute, girly (omg has a mirror), has mp3 player, bluetooth, etc... Disadvantages: poor amount of phone memory, hard to transfer data to pc, no FM radio headset
Well guys, its been a while...and while i've been away i've, yes you've guessed it, bought another new phone! But this time for more serious reasons! My cute lil Sony Ericsson K510i (for those who've read the reviews hehe) was amazing, yet after spending 6 months in my daughters changing bag, it was so scratched and covered in rusks and pureed carrot that it wasnt even worth using. So i went on a mission...to find a flip phone! I wanted something ... ...this is all i could find. Not that im moaning, but when i first saw this, it reminded me of being 13 and wanting anything with flowers... but once i got my hands on it i was smitten...

I wanted something chunky, yet hi-tech...and something that wasnt a Motorola V3. And this is all i could find. Not that im moaning, but when i first saw this, it reminded me of being 13 and wanting anything with flowers... but once i got my hands on it i was smitten...
When i first opened the box (which itself is a snazzy lil gift box) i was amazed at the extras that came with it. Ok they're not exactly hi-tech, but a matching blue phone charm and headset is great in my books. THe USB connection lead is also included in the set, and is the same pale blue as the other accessories, but also doubles up as the charger cable. Which is good as i was well confused to see this little stumpy charger (which stupidly is black) with a cable thats about 5cm long! But if u attach it to the USB cable.......hey presto, you have a charger!
The phone is chunky, yet sexy, and will definitely survive a few trips down the stairs (yes i have dropped it already..twice..) The design of the handset itself is great, the buttons are where you want them to be, and you can change all of the top navigation buttons so they do whatever you want them to. In my case, in order to help me get used to the phone, i modified the nav. buttons so they were the same as those on my old phone. The buttons are quite spaced apart, and quite large, but very easy to get to grips with.
One thing that i must say is that the phone memory is a poor 1.3mb, but a 59.6mb MicroSD card is included. Although this might seem a good consolation, it makes it harder to send things to your pc. When i first used the software to connect my phone to the computer (which was a very easy process if i may say so myself) i noticed that i coulodnt view any of the files from my phone that were on the memory card. Meaning it seems impossible to transfer images from the MIcroSD unless you copy them to the phone memory first. As well as this it also means that music cannot be transferred as your average song is at least 3mb and the phone memory is 1.3mb. But if anyone has a solution to this (or maybe im just being thick) then please let me know!
The USB connection also allows you to to connect to the internet on your computer via the internet on your phone...this is apparently a wireless connection but to be honest i havent treid this out yet! But still a great idea if you're out and about with your laptop!!
The mp3 player is brilliant, it has everything you could need, and comes witha headset to allow you to listen to your tunes in private. However i was a bit annoyed that everytime i got a text or call, it would cancel the mp3 player completely and i would have to restart the song. There is a built in FM radio, but apparently you have to go and buy a separate headset for this..which personally i think is really stupid!
The bluetooth facility is really easy to use on this phone, and searches and connects easily with other phones. But bear in mind that on a lot of phones the default passcode is 0000, it isnt on this one!
The 1.3 megapixel camera is great, and has loads of cool settings, so no matter where you are, there's always a setting which will adapt to your surroundings, whether its night time, sunny or even snowing!
Although you can play downloadable games on this phone, it doesnt come with any...just an application telling you how to look fabulous in 5 mins....in my opinion a complete waste of space, so i deleted it.....but it leads me on to the MIRROR!! Wow, how cool! Press a particular key, and the screen fades away to give you your very own mirror, its brilliant! But please bear in mind that the keypad is still active when the screen is in mirror mode so be careful you dont accidently text anyone or anything!
This phone will set you back between £50 and £100 depending on where you get it from. Carphone Warehouse seemed the cheapest place for me to get it, at only £54.99, but then they told me they were out of stock..so were Woolworths. But i picked mine up online from Virgin Mobile for around £70 with £30 free airtime, what a bargain!
So would i recommend this phone? Um..YES...!! But i would say that, although the phone itself would be great for everyone...I wouldnt recommend this particular edition for you guys....unless you dont mind the funny looks when you pull out this lil number!!!
Advantages: Attractive, good value, clear 'office' features Disadvantages: Overly complicated menu and address book
This phone looks good- that was what drew me to it. Plus I was pleasently surprised by the price it was selling for (a point that still remains true). However I haven't been overly impressed since buying it. For anyone who just wants their phone to do the basics (phone calls, text messages) then you'd probably be happy with it, just as I am. But for those who don't find mobile phones easy to use, you may struggle.
I don't pretend to be a phone genius, ... ...not been able to sort my address book contacts into alphabetical order. This makes brousing difficult.
The mp3 player has a good sound (remembering that it's coming out of a phone) and holds about 10 songs. Also it is very easy to change these songs; simply plug the wire in to your computer and drag and drop. This does run down the battery time quickly, but otherwise the standby time lasts for quite a while.
The mirror is a nice novelty, but not ...

Quick review of BenQ-Siemens EF61 Special Edition
This is the last time I buy a phone based on the way it looks. I saw it, decided i wanted it and that was it.
6 months down the line - when its sunny i can't see the screen outside, it's the slowest thing ever when it comes to texting, the battery lasts a day, and recently, it has taken to freezing when i try to turn it on meaning i have to take the battery out several times before it works.
It's not all bad though, i can ring and text, listen to music, take photos and use the handy little mirror. But I'll never again let my heart rule my head with a mobile phone.
With this phone, it seems, beauty IS only skin deep ...

I bought this phone as it looks nice and was £39.99 in Woolworths on Virgin, which is a bargain for it's many features (1.3 MP camera, mirror, MP3). However, I had major problems with it and exchanged it for another phone which ALSO had the same fault! I then got a different phone.

Advantages: pretty, unique, girly, photo phone book, mp3 player Disadvantages: a little slow, only 1 game, almost impossible to see the screen outside in daylight
This is a very nice phone. I was very pleased when i got it as i had a horrible brick before. I have had it for 6 months now and it is sill going stong. It is quite robust which is good as i have droped it a few times and it hasn't scratched!
However, there are some down falls. For example it sometimes has no signal when i am outside and sometimes it refuses to make calls at all. There is only one Java game (which is quite rediculous) which tells ... ...all girls know how to do that already! That is the only major downfall. I find music etc. quite easy to download onto my phone and it plays it well. One last problem is that the keys have scratched the screen as i have fliped it down and when i go into the mirror mode (which is fantastic) i can see the scratched quite well which spoils the apperance of it.
With the photo phone book some times it gets the pictures wrong and when someone calls me ...

this mobile phone is very easy to use and will be very good for someone as a first mobile phone as well as for someone who has had mobile phones before. the phone has a very stylish flower design on the front and the back, the covers are very easy to take off if needed and it also comes with a matching phone charm. the phone has a special button which turns the screen in to a mirror to help you do your make up on the move and it also has a game which ...
