Ben and Jerry's representations of their ice creams on the tubs are normally quite accurate and give you a fair idea of what to expect from the contents. In this case, however, you would only be tempted by the pictures if you think that bear vomit and bear poo are the best culinary delights since delia smith baked roasted her football boots in pastry.

'Aisle 29, and it tastes just fine.'
'You'll leave the Pennsylvania ice shop 'bout a quarter to four, read a magazine and then you're in for some more, shove a lot of cream in, gotta keep tum filling, woo woo caramel, you I adore!'
This ice cream makes me happy and when I am happy I like to sing. While I cannot promise that dedicating your life to the worship of Ben and Jerry's will save your life, I can promise that tasting this tub will change your life (although possibly not for the benefit of your pocket or your waistline).
APPEARANCE
The ice cream is temporarily stored in a 500 ml tub (until transferred to your tummy). The picture on the front is of large chocolatey lumps surrounded by a river of cascading caramel (although this unfortunately looks more like the contents of Winnie the Pooh's toilet after a heavy night) on a pale yellow background.
On the back of the tub, however, are the stylised Ben and Jerry's cows who are only too aware of how delicious the product is. They almost bust a gut eating grass all day to produce this delicacy and have only ever managed to taste it when some fell off the back of Farmer Barleymow's tractor (apologies to Bod). If you don't finish your tub I know of a couple of bovines who would be happy to finish it for you.
FLAVOUR
The product consists of a base of caramel ice cream containing swirls of soft caramel and lumps of harder caramel coated in chocolate.
The thought of a caramel ice cream sounds rather sickly but the light colouring of the frosty wasteland promises otherwise and indeed, the ice cream is not too sweet but subtly caramelly (this word may well appear in the next edition of the Oxford English Dictionary), with the flavour being highlighted by the streams of caramel which run through it.
The caramel streaks are just the right consistency, so that it is soft enough to lift out of the tub without needing to put pressure on your spoon but hard enough so that lovely luscious threads of it are left hanging in the balance between your spoon and the ice cream.
As for the chocolate-coated caramel lumps, what can I say? Orgasmic. When you bite through the chilled chocolate, the crunchiness of the chocolate shell immediately contrasts with and complements the soft caramel lurking inside. The interesting combination of textures is enhanced by the soft smooth velvetiness of the ice cream.
ANOTHER WINNER
Ben and Jerry's have done it again, producing an ice cream with interesting combinations of flavours and textures that combine perfectly to provide a truly luxurious eating experience.
So, next time you are 'In the Mood', dress up for the occasion in a 'String of Pearls', order '65000' tubs of Caramel Chew Chew and enjoy. I predict that there won't be any left over for those hungry mookie dooks*.
* For those of you who haven't seen the draft copy of next year's OED, this means cows.
Advantages: It taste's decidedly gorgeous! Gives a bit'o'oral pleasure and it's naughty. Disadvantages: I wish it was this good without the calories and fat!!
...a rather odd picture of Ben and Jerry! By odd I mean they look like relics from the sixties or something, hehehe!

So there you have it, I have thought long and hard as to whether I have any qualms about recommending this and I have to say that apart from ... ...to anyone who like caramel. It’s getting a full ***** rating from me even though the chocolate could have been a wee bit better I am not going to complain (to much). It’s definitely a mega treat for the taste buds and as I only have it once a week (the ice cream not a bit of the other if you get me drift) I make the most of it and suck the tub dry. Is it orgasmic?
Almost, but not quite! It does induce a bit of a tingle though, but only to my taste ...

Advantages: Delicious flavour Disadvantages: Expensive and fattening!
...is fairly unusual in the Ben and Jerry’s stakes as it focuses ALMOST entirely on one flavour (caramel). The majority of the other flavours mix together all sorts of different combinations of fruit, chocolate, caramel, nuts etc. but this one is perhaps a bit more suited to those people who prefer not to be quite so adventurous in their ice cream consumption, but still value the finer things in life when it comes to ice cream!
The ice cream itself ... ...sweetness is something at which Ben and Jerry are real experts! It is a pale golden colour and could almost be mistaken for cornish vanilla at first glance!
Throughout the ice cream are swirls of caramel sauce. These used to be so plentiful that you would get delicious little pockets of sauce which would literally flow out when you put your spoon into the ice cream, but lately they have been a little more scarce (see my Phish Food op for details!) ...

Advantages: Quite tasty Disadvantages: Not the best B & J ice cream for depth of flavours
...other day when I saw Ben & Jerry's Caramel Chew Chew ice cream on special offer. I have previously tried other Ben & Jerry ice creams and have been impressed, so was keen to try this one too.
Caramel Chew Chew is one of Ben & Jerry's less well-known ice creams. Unlike the Phish Food and Cookie Dough varieties, which are widely available and sold by many retailers, Caramel Chew Chew is more difficult to get hold of and some of you may not have heard ... ...(about 1cm in diameter) but Ben & Jerry's make up for this by giving you a generous number of them. They look quite appealing and are a bit like small Rolos.
The ice cream itself is sweet but very tasty. I don't personally find it quite as nice as the maple syrup flavoured ice cream found in B & J's 'The Full Vermonty', but I do like the chocolate caramel pieces. These are hard and chunky on the outside and soft and smooth on the inside. This all ...

...a groan to my hips. Ben & Jerry’s ice cream on special offer! Yes, you can currently buy 2 tubs of this wonderful ice cream for just £5! (Normally around £3.80 a tub). Well, how can a girl resist! But which flavours to choose – do I go for those that I have tried and trusted or should I be adventurous and try something different? Curiosity got the better of me and I ended up with a tub of Half-Baked (delicious but gone before I could ... ...of you who don’t know, Ben & Jerry are 2 friends who met at high school and, after college, decided that they could produce better ice cream than that which was commercially available. With the help of a $5 correspondence course in ice cream making, the legend of Ben & Jerry was born.
As with all B&J ice creams, Caramel Chew Chew comes in a cardboard tub. Not overly exciting, but it does the job. The real excitement comes when you peel off ...

Advantages: The taste, the chocolate-covered caramel chunks, the taste, the carmel swirls and the taste Disadvantages: The cost, not available everywhere
...than the type in other Ben & Jerry's ice cream (although I'm sure it's the same thing and there is nothing wrong with their chocolate usually) but with a crispy caramel chunk in the middle, extremely nice and I found these chunks the most enjoyable part of my ice-cream. If you took the ice-cream on its own however (without all the chunks/swirls/etc) it probably wouldn't be the nicest you could find however the ice-cream isn't sold like this so this ... ...The best thing about ben and jerry's is just how much they add to an ice-cream, rather than just putting a few little bits into the ice cream like many companies seem to you instead get nice chunks of the chocolate-covered caramel and plentiful amounts of the caramel swirl as well as having the caramel taste in the ice-cream itself. Overall it was delicious and probably my third-fourth favourite ice-cream at the moment. In case you are wondering ...

Advantages: Great taste, delicious from the fridge, not a bad price, good packaging. Disadvantages: None.
worry about them spoiling as you can just fold the foil over wherever you've eaten up too!
Rolos taste great, they are especially delicious from the fridge or smashed up with a wooden spoon and added with vanilla ice cream and fudge sauce or something similar (gosh, I love my ice cream don't I!) this is a little similar to a caramelchewchew ice cream by Ben & Jerrys (but cheaper of course) it's definitely worth trying and the little ones will love to beat up the rolos with that wooden spoon!
Rolos should be enjoyed in moderation as part of a healthy lifestyle as each tube contains 246 calories, 32.3g sugars & 10.6g of fat so it's definitely not something that you should eat all the time! (Even if they are deliciously moorish!).
The question of course is... Do you love anybody enough to give them your last rolo? I'd give my other half ...

Advantages: Creamy, caramel and chocolate chunks yummy Disadvantages: Expensive
The other day my hubby bought home some ice cream and it was, yes you guessed it Ben & Jerry's CaramelChewChew (not choo choo as mentioned in the product category) which is "Caramel Ice cream, Caramel and Chocolately covered caramel chunks"
Like their other ice cream that I have tried called Phish food, I think that this can be too sickly if you if you eat too much, the caramel flavored ice cream is great just the right texture and right amount of caramel. The choclate covered caramel pieces make it even sicklier but taste great. Ben & Jerry do some really fun ice creams for the chocolate lover like me! With imaginative names and great colourful cartons.
According to the carton its made in the USA and imported by Ben & Jerry's Homemade Ltd, 10 Charter pLace High Street, Egham, Surrey TW20 9EA and there is also a website www ...
Advantages: The nicest ice cream in the world Disadvantages: Fattening...
usually retails for about £3.99, although there are some places you can get it a little cheaper.
£3.99 may sound pretty expensive for a tub of ice cream which probably won't stick around too long (they rarely do!!), but I personally think Ben and Jerry's is worth every penny. I'd buy the stuff if it cost twice the price!!
I freely admit to being totally addicted to almost every flavour Ben and Jerry's make (apart from the truly disgusting CaramelChew-Chew - don't even go there!), but I'm afraid Phish Food is my favourite. It is named after the hippy band Phish, who also come from Vermont. I must say, I never thought much of Phish, but they obviously inspired Ben and Jerry no end - this ice cream is divine!! Phish Food is predominantly chocolate ice cream, with nice swirls of marshmallow and caramel in it, and really cute little fish ...
