After a pleasent experience with a particular Ben & Jerry's ice cream a couple of days ago, my mum came back from Asda a few days ago look very guilty. From the look on her face, I knew she'd either done something very bad, or purchased something she didn't need to! The latter was the truth! After much prompting (and annoyance) my mum gave in to my questions, and revealed the truth! In Asda the temptation in the ice cream aisle was too strong, and so she had unnessescarly purchased one of Ben & Jerry's delights! This particular one was "Half Baked". I love anything sweet, however the name of the ice cream "Half Baked" wasn't too tempting and hinted that this would be a product that felt as though it was only half-made! I couldn't have been more wrong!
That night my mum indulged in a bowl of the ice cream, and couldn't sing its praises enough. It was all too tempting and so the next night after tea I decided it was my job to make sure if my mum was lying or not! I retrieved the tub from the freezer and took a closer look! The thick cardboard tub was quite pretty looking; mainly red in colour with a black lid. "Ben & Jerry's" was written in white writing on a black background and underneith it read "HALF BAKED". The background was filled with delicious looking pictures of chocolate brownies, and a cartoon-style picture of the ice cream itself! Under all of this nearing the bottom of the tub, it reads "2 Twisted ice creams". Very tempting. At the very bottom of the front there is a mouthwatering description of the ice cream inside; "A crazy concoction of chocolate ice cream, & vanilla ice cream, mixed with fudge brownies and gobs of chocolate chip cookie dough". It sounded to be good to be true, so I flipped the carton over in search of nutritional information, however sadly nothing was printed!
I then retired to the computer in search of the nutritional information, however I couldnt find the nutrition for this exact Ben & Jerry's ice cream- however I did find it for a similar dessert. In 100ml, roughly a fifth of the tub, you can expect to find roughly 250-300calories and a whopping 15-or-so grams of fat. This is definitly not a healthy pudding and I would stay clear if you are trying to watch your weight, eat healthily or on a low-cal diet!!
** I lifted the black cardboard lid from the tub, which was fairly easy to do, and was presented with a 3/4 full tub of delicious ice cream. When I first glanced, I couldn't see any vanilla ice cream- only the chocolate was visible, however when I scooped two spoonfuls into my bowl, large patches of vanilla did infact appear. The brownie peices were also clearly visible and I spotted a few chunks of what I think was cookie dough. A delicious chocolatey smell rose up from the bowl, sending my sweettooth (teeth?!) into crave-city!
I sat down with my bowl and decided to try everything individually! I scooped up a spoonful of vanilla ice cream to begin with, it tasted strongly of vanilla and was incredibly creamy. Next up I tried a spoonful of the chocolate ice cream. It was very strong tasting and tasted extremely chocolate. It was very obviously milk chocolate and tasted of great quality! After I sampled both ice creams I spooned a piece of the "chocolate cookie dough". It was very sweet and had a lovely crumbly texture too it. Last of all I sampled a peice of the fudge brownie. It was really really chocolatey and tasted slightly of a cadburys fudge! It was really chewy and really delicious. All of the different peices mixed together led to a delicious taste sensation!!
** For the taste of this ice cream, you can expect it to be rather expensive. However maybe not as expensive as it actually was! Infact my mum purchased the 500ml carton of chocolatey delight for a whopping £3.86 from Asda. The Ben & Jerry's creamy desserts are available from most supermarkets retailing at roughly the same price. Although I have not yet come across it, I am sure there will sometimes be special offers on them too! Overall I'd definitly reccomend this particular one, and it is definitly one of my favourite from the brand. Although it's tastey it isn't healthy so I'd say only have on special occasions!!

...than an unopened container of Ben and Jerry's Ice Cream. Well, actually, two unopened containers. Those two containers looked up at me with those pitiful, longing eyes that every ice cream container in my freezer seem to have. I heard them whimpering, '"eat me, eat me," they seemed to say. How can one turn down such a heartfelt plea? I know I can't. But how do I decide which one to go for, without hurting the other one's feelings? I had to plea bargain ... ...to, is another one of Ben & Jerry's delicious ice creams. This particular flavour is one of their 2Twisted Ice Creams. Why 2Twisted? It's quite simple really. Ben and Jerry selected the best of all of the great flavours that they make, and combined pairs of these flavours into one singular sensation. It's like getting two great flavours for the price of one. Now, how's that for a bargain?

...me to the wonders of Ben And Jerry's Ice Cream I've never even considered buying another brand (oh apart from those 60p tubs to make milkshakes with but that doesn't count…) They have a wide selection of flavours, all of which I've enjoyed to different degrees but my favourite of all (so far) has to be the one I'm reviewing: Half Baked.
HALF BAKED
Half baked is presented in the trademark Ben And Jerry's pint pot; a short stout cardboard container ... ...do when it comes to Ben And Jerry's! This is great to eat alone but seems even more enjoyable when shared, sort of a 'one spoon for me, one for you' kinda experience. If you thought the container looked appealing god knows what you'll think when faced with the actual ice cream: vanilla tones beautifully intertwined and dominated by mid-chocolate brown ice cream, a generous helping of fudgy chocolate brownie and a splattering of cookie dough blobs ...

...you that I'm addicted to Ben and Jerry's ice creams - I am, after all, female. If that wasn't enough of a clue for you, the fact that all of my food opinions are to do with vaguely chocolate-based products probably was. So you're more than likely expecting this to be a glowing opinion on Ben and Jerry's Half Baked ice cream.
Well, you see, that's where you'd be wrong. Much as I do like this flavour (if anyone feels like sending a lifetime supply ... ...for £5 deal on all Ben and Jerry's ice creams. I was ecstatic... until I realised that I couldn't get any because it would melt on the (incredibly!) long journey back to my flat - ice cream and hours waiting about for buses just don't mix!
After a few more close encounters of the Half Baked kind, I finally managed to lay my hands on this ice cream in my local Morrisons. It was a bit of a risk - the bus journey home was quite long - but I did it ...

Despite being expensive, Ben & Jerry's is delicious. I am slowly working my way through all the different varieties. However, half baked, is truly awesome. Cant decide between the yummy cookie dough or the sweet chocolate brownie?! Then why not have them both together? I am a chocolate lover, but sometimes it can be a little too sickly, such as the Ben & Jerry's phish food. But Half baked just seems to have got it right. Enough chocolate ice-cream ...

Ben and Jerrys (of any type), has had to become a treat as apart from the fact i can,t work out the weight watchers points value of it (probably best!!!), it is (when not on offer) rather dear! I have tried a few of them, not all admittedly, but most that have sickengly large amounts of chocolate in them.By far this is my favourite one, its the creamy enticing chocolate ice cream with the almost crunchy (but not quite) chocolate ... ...tub, those big gooey gobs of cookie dough, god im really hungry!!!!The only downside (as i mentioned before), is the price. I am an Asda shopper ( due to the fact my husband has a discount card!!!), and the price of this tub of heaven really sticks i my clack!!!! Its is £3.78 a tub , not that unreasonable except when you compare to Asdas own brand ice cream which is , surprisingly, nearly as nice and onlt £1.59.But price aside definatley worth trying!!!!( ...
