Advantages: Cleans well, less is needed than other brands Disadvantages: Odourless, the awful colour of the packaging
...on. I received a Ben Sherman gift box that contained a pair of socks and some Ben Sherman shower gel.
I’ve always worn Ben Sherman shirts for their excellent quality at slightly cheaper prices than some other well known brands, I’ve even owned a jacket and pair shoes by them, but I didn’t know they’d diversed into the shower gel range so I was interested to see how it performed.
Now I’m not one to go into detail about ... ...bonus.
The Ben Sherman shower gel is not one that doubles up as a hair product too, which in itself is a result, as none of them seem to work properly anyway. To be honest I am very happy with my current shower gel and despite some good results I shall only use this until it runs out. I wouldn't urge anyone to go out and buy it has it has few benefits compared to the competition; it works well, average priced, but does the job. If ... more
There are a few things that you can bet your bottom dollar on at Christmas; you’ll get at least one card from someone you don’t remember, you’ll see an expensive gift you bought at half the price just days after you’ve given it and you’ll receive some kind of gift box, usually containing shower gel or deodorant, from someone who clearly didn’t know what to get you but didn’t want to give you a bit extra and give you a voucher.
Well, as predictable as ever, all these happened again this year and it is the later I am writing this opinion on. I received a Ben Sherman gift box that contained a pair of socks and some Ben Sherman shower gel.

Now I’m not one to go into detail about packaging but this really has to be seen to be believed. Both the original box and the bottle that it comes in are fluorescent green – if you are finding it hard to picture then simply think of a green highlighter pen and you won’t be far off. I’m guessing this is simply to get noticed on the shelves with the majority of the competition opting for darker colours, and this is bound to stand out. In reality it is vile and anyone influenced by packaging might notice this first but I’m pretty sure it isn’t going to match your bathroom suite! Having said that it could be a lifesaver if you have a power cut whilst in the shower. My favourite part of the packaging though has to b the catchphrase ‘Shirt hits the fan’ – clever and memorable.
So within a week I was ready to have a shower (joke – for those slow off the mark) and I thought I’d better try this new present. When in the shower (sorry girls, no pictures to upload – should that be sorry or a reassurance!?!?) I opened the bottle and placed some on my hand. The gel is an orange/rust colour and was, surprisingly, almost odourless. The slight smell that I did get was a whiff of cheap soap – not that pleasant but it was so slight I wasn’t bothered. The gel also appears a lot more watery than my usual ones but this didn’t make any difference when washing with it as it soon lathered up. I’m not sure if it was the watery state of the gel or something else, but a little of this stuff seemed to go a long way more than the usual brands I used. The gel didn’t irritate my skin at all, although I wouldn’t say that it made it that refreshed either.
Five minutes (and few songs) later I was washed and clean. I felt the gel had done a good job and cleaned well despite being weak smelling. The benefit here is that it doesn’t linger on your body like some shower gels I’ve used in the past, this leaves you smelling clean, yet in a more natural way. It also seemed to last as well as my usual brands, and no need for extra washing is always a bonus.

If you fancy trying it then I'm sure you won't be disappointed but there are definitely a lot better products on the market.
A 250ml bottle retails for just over £2, competitively priced in the market alongside Lynx and Adidas. I would also like to add at this point that the socks that came with the shower gel in the gift pack were so thick and comfortable that if you see this gift set at a really cheap price (slashed in the sales) then it is definitely worth buying.
get for being a boy and saying "Sure, i dont mind playing full contact rugby with Year 10's!" Ouch. But either way, it did what it sed and i did not smell pooey or muddy, no, i smelt Ben Shermany!
After reading a good friends review of this product i noticed that it is CFC free. Now i have to be completely honest with you readers, i dont know what the hell this CFC is (Im only 13!!!) But apparently most aerosols are free of this these days. Which must be a good thing. Maybe its something to do with global warming? Either way. Its CFC free.
4. Conclusion
I have yet to try the other 2 scents in the BenSherman deodarant range, and also the showergel in the same range, as my nearest supermarket is very limited in its range of products (Basically it sucks). Overall, even though it is hard to describe i definitley find it a VERY nice ...
