I rarely get a good night’s sleep, but when I do I still manage to get dark circles under my eyes. My mum had the same problem, so I’m guessing it’s genetic. Last time I visited the Debenhams counter, I told them that I had really dark circles under my eyes; they were quite shocked that I had dark circles and told me how well I hid them. I usually use a no 7 cream foundation on top of my Chanel foundation to hide the dark circles, but I wanted to try out a concealer designed to hide dark circles instead of using an everyday foundation.
I had read several reviews on the Benefit Bo-ing, and nearly everyone said the product was amazing for their dark circles, most people said that they only used it under their eyes because it was too thick to apply anywhere else, I was quite curious as to what the product looked like anywhere else on the skin so I was looking forward to receiving my Benefit Bo-ing through the post from Amazon for £11 and see what it looked like on discoloured areas on the skin not just under the eye area.
Most concealers I have used in the past were packaged in a little tube with a wand and were liquid. The benefit bo-ing is a lot different it came in a black plastic circular pot, which almost looked like a giant eye shadow pot. The concealer comes in a baby pink cardboard box with black paper instructions which basically say the exact same thing as it says on the back of the box, so I found it a little bit pointless to be honest. The packaging isn’t too bad, it does look a little dull but I’m not really into bright colours anyway, so this didn’t really bother me in the slightest. The benefit bo-ing is very soft and has a crème based texture which makes it distinctive compared to some of the other concealer that are sold in the other make-up counters.
Boi-ing comes in three shades - 1, 2 and 3. I ordered number 2, I had never seen the product before so I had no idea what colour would go with my skin, and I tried to play it safe. I have tanned skin so I knew number 1 would be too light for me and I wasn’t sure how dark shade 2 was but I knew it would be a safer option then opting for shade 3 which could be a lot darker then my skin tone. I’m really glad I chose number 2 because it really matches my skin colour well, I can just blend this in with my foundation and it doesn’t look at all weird because the shades are the exact same, suprinsingly.
Benefit recommend using your finger and thumb and rubbing them together when the product is on your finger to ‘warm it up’ I didn’t even bother trying this and probably won’t because I hate applying foundations or concealer with my fingers. I used my MAC 190 foundation brush to apply this just after applying my foundation, this may seem like a bizarre way to apply a concealer by using a foundation brush but It looked really good and glided on really well, I firstly applied the product to my dark circles as that was the main reason for buying the product, I applied it to one eye and then compared it to my other eye where I applied my normal Chanel make-up and then the no 7 crème that I normally use to cover my dark circles to see if there was any difference. The results were very pleasing, the eye area that I applied the Benefit bo-ing to looked a lot better than the eye I had applied my no7 crème foundation to that I would normally use, so I knew that this product was going to make my eye area look a lot better then it normally looks, which of course is fantastic.
Secondly, I applied the product to a little pink patch I have on my cheeks despite the fact most people said to just use it under your eyes and also the fact most make-up artists say you should just use concealers for under your eyes, this didn’t stop me though, I applied it and once again I noticed a difference, it covered the little pink patch really well a lot better than the no7 crème foundation does, it also gave a little shimmer which made my cheeks have a nice glow. Apparently, the benefit bo-ing used to come with a mirror. Although, this could be quite handy for when I want to apply it on the go, I am not necessarily bothered that my benefit bo-ing didn’t come with a little mirror due to the fact the products staying power is great and lasts all day so I don’t need to apply it through the day. Also, I have so many compact mirrors it would just be a waste.
Boi-ing costs £11 for 3g from Amazon, which is about £4 cheaper than most shops. I was quite pleased with the price of this product as I know it’s going to last me a good couple of months because I have used such a small amount of this product but the results have been very effective. I am really impressed with the Benefit bo-ing and I would give it 5/5 for its excellence at hiding dark circles under the eyes, I no longer have to worry about looking terrible after lack of sleep and just in general seen as they never seem to go away, as now I have this little beauty to hide my awful dark circles.
Advantages: Great coverage, blends well, good on its own, don't need much Disadvantages: Doesn't cover spots well at all
...your final purchase.
What Benefit say about this concealer: You name it, Boi-ing hides it! This industrial-strength concealer camouflages dark circles, shadow and discolouration for a seamless, natural-looking finish without creasing or folding. It's the concealer that goes the distance.
** Packaging **
The concealer I have comes in a black screw top pot, a bit like a lip balm, and the lid has a clear circle of plastic with the name Boi-ing on ... ...purchase this, and any other Benefit product on their website at www.benefitcosmetics.co.uk
They are also available in big department stores, such as Debenhams and larger Boots stores also.
The benefit (excuse the pun) of this brand, is that the price is the same regardless of where you buy it, unless you opt for ebay where Benefit is often sold cheaper.
Boi-ing sells in the shops for £15.50
** My Opinion **
This is the only Benefit product ...

Advantages: Actually covers dark circles; good staying power Disadvantages: Easy to apply too much; Can look cakey on dry skin
...the best I've come across. Benefit make massive claims about the effectiveness of this, saying: "Say good-bye to circles and shadows around your eyes with boi-ing. Our industrial-strength concealer camouflages those pesky "problems" without creasing, smudging, or wearing off." I have to admit that, compared to most of Benefit's other excitingly packaged products, Boi-ing may appear a tad on the dull side. It has recently been repackaged and now comes ... ...spoken to a couple of Benefit ladies, I believe most people opt for number 2, which is the shade I go for. It looks pretty dark in the pot, and at first I was dubious that this would blend with my olive-but-not-very-dark-in-winter skin as it looked a bit too orange toned, but I was really surprised that it matches perfectly. In fact, the fact that it is that little bit darker and does have some slight orange tones to it seems to help balance out ...

...for use under the eyes. Benefit also claim that this concealer will disguise problem areas without creasing, smudging or wearing off.
Usually the concealer would come packaged in a round plastic tub, but as mine was part of a kit, mine was actually just a small amount in a little tray inside the kit itself. It comes in three colours - light, medium and deep. Normally I would have chosen the light as I'm quite pale, however the one that comes with ... ...the skin.
Like all Benefit products Boi-ing is not cheap and retails at a hefty £15.50. It can be purchased from Debenhams. Overall, this was OK. It gave good coverage and had good staying power. The one thing for me that would stop me from buying a full size tub, would be that strange shininess it gave to the skin after application. It may have been down to my skin type or something, as I don't recall having heard of anyone else having this problem, ...

That's where Benefit comes in!
Benefit is a high end make up line, which is also fun! I'm always intimidated by the girls on the posh make up counters, such as Clinique, Lancome, etc. Everything is just so sterile, and unimaginative. Benefit is the opposite - with fun product names, cute packaging, and original ideas, it's definitely one of my favourite brands!
I was discussing make up with a friend of mine (as you do!), and she mentioned ... ...I flicked through my little Benefit catalogue and found this Boi-ing that my friend had talked about. At first it didn't seem like much - 3g of concealer for a whopping £15? A hefty price tag for such a little thing, you might think.
However, my faith in the brand prevailed, and so I handed over my £15 to the folks at Boots (and got triple Advantage Card points on it - excellent...). The girl on the counter tried a little bit of the product on my ...

...costs about £15.50 from the Benefit website, but can also be bought on the Boots, Debenhams and House of Fraser websites and at Benefit counters in those stores. I decided to splash out on this since I use loads of concealer to cover up my dark circles. I found it easier to blend with my little finger since the heat from your fingertip will ... ...colour which at first can look too dark until you blend it all in. Thats the trick to Boi-ing, because it is so thick (as it is designed to give really good coverage) you have to make sure you spend time blending to make it look really natural. The coverage is excellent, you don't need much to cover up purpley shades under the eyes. Also for your money it seems like you get quite a lot, I've been using it daily for 2 months and you can hardly see ...
