** The Product **
Boi-ing is Benefits industrial strength concealer. It is available in 3 shades; 01 - the lightest, 02 - medium and 03 - the darkest. I have 02 and although I am quite pale skinned and thought the sales assistant was nuts when she recommended I use this shade, it is a pretty good match. For this reason, I would recommend that you sample some before making your final purchase.
What Benefit say about this concealer: You name it, Boi-ing hides it! This industrial-strength concealer camouflages dark circles, shadow and discolouration for a seamless, natural-looking finish without creasing or folding. It's the concealer that goes the distance.
** Packaging **
The concealer I have comes in a black screw top pot, a bit like a lip balm, and the lid has a clear circle of plastic with the name Boi-ing on it.
I do believe that it is also available in a small compact for the same price, though I have never seen this.
The pot I have is 3.0g net wt 0.01oz.
** Price and Availability **
You can purchase this, and any other Benefit product on their website at www.benefitcosmetics.co.uk
They are also available in big department stores, such as Debenhams and larger Boots stores also.
The benefit (excuse the pun) of this brand, is that the price is the same regardless of where you buy it, unless you opt for ebay where Benefit is often sold cheaper.
Boi-ing sells in the shops for £15.50
** My Opinion **
This is the only Benefit product I ever go into Boots intending to purchase, and yet, as you've probably noticed, I own quite a number of items in the range.
I think this concealer is fantastic to put it simply. I love the fact that it can be used on its own, with just a little other make up or with a full blown cake of make up on.
I'm generally in the middle somewhere and will mostly wear this with a light layer of Benefits Some Kinda Gorgeous and a little dusting of Benefits Georgia. For me, this gives complete coverage for most of the day.
However, I'm not the type of person to go out without make up on - my skin's quite red and I get terrible bags under my eyes, so for me the best thing about Boi-ing is that I can wear it on its own. If I feel like having a day off from make up, I can just pop some of this under my eyes and on my cheeks where needed. It blends in really well, it looks and feels like I've no make up on, it gives my skin a break and gives me a bit more confidence that enables me to go out without the need for the other items.
So, what's it like to apply? It's not really thick, like a lot of concealers and it's not runny, it's more like a thin cream, so it goes on very well. I find it best to apply it with the fingertips. That way none is wasted and you can blend it in well. A little goes a long way, and I find that instead of sitting on top of the skin, like most concealers do, it is absorbed a bit more, so as to give great coverage without the caked on look.
The only downside to this concealer, is that it's not very effective at covering up spots, and I think it's because, like I said, it doesn't sit on the skin which of course a spot does.
Overall though, this is a fantastic little concealer, and although £15.50 may seem expensive for such an item, I'd say it's well worth the price tag. However, if, like me, you can't really justify buying expensive make up items, you can always do as I do and save up your Boots points and try it for free. This lasts me for ages, even with daily use, so by the time I need more, I've always got enough points saved to treat myself without feeling guilty.
If you use concealer, this is definitely worth a try and I certainly recommend it.
