-OVERVIEW- Benetint by Benefit is a very popular and very expensive cheek and lip stain. Stains are an alternative to blusher and lipstick, as they give a liquid stain to the skin and lips, in natural tones and shades. The advantage stains have over blusher are that stains are alot more long-lasting and give a more natural rosy look, as opposed to the powdery dramatic looks blusher can achieve.
Benetint is one of the best selling cheek and lip stains in the cosmetics industry, and this is because the versatility and natural shade of the product. It has recieved excellent feedback from the palest complexions to even the most tanned and bronzed. The stain gives a natural and flushed colour which is universally suited to all skin tones.
The product is marketed at all females looking for a natural and youthful glow, there is no age range, which makes this product so irresistable for almost everyone.
-OUTLETS- Benefit products are available in most major department stores, and large Boots stores. As it is such an expensive company, you're not likely to find it in the local town shopping centre, and should try the higher market end, like major shopping malls and larger department stores such as Debenhams.
You can also try Ebay but be wary as people tend to sell sample products in ofcourse sample sizes, and magnify the image to fool people. So be very careful. -PRICE- The RRP for Benetint is £22.50, just like other benefit blushers.
Many people will find that this is far too expensive for their make-up buget, and others will argue that it is well worth it. In mu opinion, you should try buying it cheaper on Ebay, just as long as you're careful with who you're buying from.
Before I started this review, I went on to Ebay, and had a quick look in the listings, and found you can buy the full size Benetint for £14.00 rather than £22.50, and you can buy smaller sizes for as little as £7.00 But this is where you need to be careful, the smaller sizes tend to be samples, and some people play with words and images, and sell samples at the prices for the full size.
But if Benetint is out of your reach at it's RRP, it's good to research carefully and check for any loops, and then buy it alot cheaper from Ebay.
-PACKAGING- The Benetint bottle is a round glass bottle with a totally transparent finish. This is useful as you can see how much of the stain is left at all times. It has a white plastic screw top lid with a brush attached to the inside base. It's just like a nail polish bottle, except the brush is thinner and the bristles are softer.
The front of the bottle has the Benetint logo in white, set against a pink circle. Underneath that, towards the bottom of the bottle is the famiiliar slanty Benefit logo.
-THE LIQUID- The liquid itself is a dark ruby red, similar to blood! But when it is applied to the skin it is alot lighter and rosier, and on the lips, the colour is a rosier and brighter colour of the lips it's applied on. So just imagine your lips a few shades rosier and pinker.
The stain smells purely of rose water, and has a very gentle and uplifting scent. Whether it's an advantage or a disadvantage for you, the smell doesn't linger, It's only there whilst the product is in the bottle or just applied onto the skin.-AMOUNT- One full size Benetint bottle contains 12.5 ml of the ruby coloured staining liquid. But as only a small amount is required to use it, it tends to last a lond time.
-SHELF LIFE- One bottle lasts for 12 months/1 year.
-WHAT IT PROMISES- Benetint promises a "kiss-proof and water-proof" glow which is both "innocent" and "provocative".-WHAT IT DOES- Benetint does give a natural and rosy glow as promised. It's amazing just how accurately it recreates my natural blush, and enchances it. Try it on another skin tone, and it recreates a totally different blush from mine, but accurate respectively to the persons natural "blushing colour". It suits everyone and gives anyone a rosy and healthy glow.
The stain is long-lasting, and stays put all day, and even night. and it comes off very easily even with the mildest face wash and water. It has a great formula which is a reason for it's many awards and high RRP.
But Benetint has no moisturising properties, and should be used after a moisturiser or lip balm. Unfortunately Benetint is also not good for people suffering from acne on their cheeks as the tint sets into the pimples and makes them look even more angry and flared. In that case, the tint looks nothing like a blush and blends in with the acne, and makes it look just terrible.
Other than that the Beneting lip and cheek tint, is absoloutely fabulous, I just love it.
-ADVANTAGES- Natural glowing cheeks Nice smelling stain Quick and simple application -DISADVANTAGES- Stains fingers You have to blend in quickly or it leaves brush marks Irritant for Acne
-TIPS- As instructed on the Benefit website, Apply 3 small stripes across the cheeks and quickly blend in with fingers.
Instead of using it just on the apples of your cheeks, try spreading it accross to your hairline for a more dramatic finish.-FINAL VERDICT- Overall I think Benetint is a fantastic product despite it's overly expensive prices. The stain does exactly what it says and gives a beautiful healthy glow to even the most dull copmplexions. But apart from that, I love how natural the blush comes out, It doesn't look in any ways fake or extra, and reflects exactly how my natural blush comes out. What more could you want with a blusher? And adding to that it makes the lips look great aswell, So for me, and many many others, this product is a wonder product, and It should be in every womans handbag. -LITTLE NOTE :) - A cheaper version of Benetint is the MeMeMe cheek and lip stain. From superdrug.
Advantages: Natural looking, long lasting, cult product (street cred), lasts for ages Disadvantages: EXPENSIVE! difficult application, uneven on lips
...in lots of boots stores, benefit stores, ebay (where I got my baby) and the benefit UK website which I love to check up on every once in a while www.benefitcosmetics.co.uk
-Packaging-
As the case with most benefit cosmetics, the packaging is positively delightful. It comes in a cute cylindrical glass bottle with a white plastic cap. It fits nicely into any handbag or makeup bag and although the huge plastic cap makes it look bigger than it is I ... ...for months!
Bear in mind that this is quite the cult beauty product and has won numerous beauty awards. I saw this in at least 5 beauty magazines before fishing deep into my wallet to purchase it.
-Does it work?-
It claims to be 'the sexiest flush you can get from a bottle' and I think it does! It lasts for ages and gives your cheeks a natural, dewy pink look- like you've just come back from a little exercise. It works for most occasions, and ...

Advantages: Looks completely natural, lasts all day and night Disadvantages: Very expensive
I had never heard of Benefit cosmetics until one spring day in 2004 when I went into Debenhams with my mother to look for a pair of shoes. We decided to take a de-tour to the shoe isle via the make-up counters and that's when we both, simultaneously, felt a strange allure to the vibrant, fun looking counter that was Benefit. We were 'just looking' when the assistant asked if we'd ever tried the brand before. Neither of us had so she offered us a ... ...of the products, and although I could have bought everything in sight that would have left me bankrupt. However, the makeover was complementary so we figured why not?
I opted for the natural-looking products and one of these was Benetint (a liquid blush). It doesn't look up to much and after I selected it I almost put it back but the assistant said I should give it a try as it is one of the brands best-sellers. I sat down and she opened what looked ...

...that THEY NOW HAVE A BENEFIT COUNTER. Obviously I bought Benetint (and a few other essential items) and charged it all to my account card to be dealt with later.
The 13.5ml jar cost me £21.50. Yes, £21.50. For blusher. You read correctly. That is VERY expensive for me. But there's something about Benefit that I can't resist.
Benetint comes in a nice little red box in a nice little see through bottle so you can see how much Benetint you have left ... ...washed off with soap :) Benefit are not kidding when they say 'blend quickly'. If you don't, you'll end up with three red dots on each side of your face.
I found that I loved having sexy rosy cheeks. I can't stress enough how perfectly it goes on. I had a lovely, natural, rosy glow. The best bit is - because it's a stain, it doesn't come off very easily like cream or powder makeup does. I've walked around with the wind hitting off my face and my ...

I first came across Benefit Cosmetics a few Christmas' ago when I recieved a Kitten Sparkle Puff as a gift. Living in a small town, I'd never heard of Benefit before and soon did some internet searches to find out more. I'm now a self confessed Benefit addict!

...have tried many products by Benefit such as their eye shadow's, blushers (wow!), mascara and eyeliner. What drew my attention to the Benefit counter in the first place was their unusual designs on the product packages which are far different from many others on the market. The thing to remember is that this is an enhancer, not something to layer on heavily. I find it works best for evenings when I want a little extra glow, and is not as suitable for day wear, but that's just me. If I could afford to buy lots of bottles of it, I might well consider it for day wear. The effect is subtle, not too sparkly, but does give your skin a lift. I would imagine it would look nice on either very pale skin, or darker complexions. It’s definitely a bright fresh glowy look and may not be for people who prefer a more matte appearance.
I have to say, I love the look High Beam gives me- I feel like it makes my skin look brighter and younger. I gather that it works quite well when used in conjunction with BeneFit's BeneTint, but I need to wait until my next pay cheque for that one ...

Me: ?What are you getting your sister for her birthday honey??
Boyf: ?Well she wants some type of make-up stuff for her cheeks, I think she said.?
Me: ?Do you know who makes it, or what shade she wants??
Boyf: ?Benefact? Benefit? Bene-something, I can?t remember. Do you know it??
Me: ?Benetint??
Boyf: ?That?s the one!?
That?s how my boyf and myself came to be standing at the Benefit counter in my local Debenhams. I love BeneFit cosmetics. I just love the sheer girlieness of the packaging, and Benetint is my one Must-have product, but in general I look longingly at the packaging, only splashing out once in a blue moon. Thankfully Benefit products last months, so rarely need replacing. However this occasion was different. As I knelt at the shrine that is the Benefit counter I heard those wonderful words ?I?ll buy you something if ...
