Mums are there to steal their make-up. Am I right? I certainly think so. I, like my mother have quite small, squinty eyes. She came home from a trip from Lakeside one Saturday looking extremely pleased for herself. She had spent an absolute fortune on several Benefit products and one of which was Benefit Eyebright. When she told me she had found a wonder product that gave you brighter eyes I was very unconvinced. That was until she suggested I try it for myself before I made my judgement.
*About the Product*
Benefit Eyebright is an incredible eye pencil that opens up tired looking eyes. It provides you with a bright eyes and leaves you looking (even if you not feeling) wide awake.
*Application*
There are a number of tips and tricks that are given to you with regards to using the product. It is recommended that when the last of your make-up has been applied, Benefit Eyebright should be the finishing touch. You should make approximately four lines in the spot between the inner circle of your eye and the bridge of your nose. This is because it is where dark outlines are found. By applying Benefit Eyebright, you are immediately getting rid of these shadows. Additionally, you should draw a line running along the bottom of your eyebrow. I tend to dab it lightly but not so much that I am simply removing it. It is essential that you don't over-use this product as if you do, it will end up looking cheap and you won't be using it for the correct purpose.
I personally use it on the inner rim of my lower eyelid as well. I find this works wonders for opening your eyes up and really makes them look more awake.
*Price and Availability*
Benefit Eyebright is available to buy from most department stores, such as Debenhams, John Lewis and Boots at their Benefit make-up counter. You can buy this miracle cure for tired eyes for £13.50. Although this is fairly expensive, like most Benefit products, it is fantastic value for money and I strongly urge you not to let this put you off. You are paying for quality and it makes you feel marvellous. You could even be cheeky like me and use your mum's for free! If you prefer to buy things via the internet, you can purchase it on www.benefitcosmetics.co.uk.
*My Opinion*
Packaging: I adore the packaging of all benefit products and Eyebright is no exception. It is a small, thick black pencil that it 1.7g. Along the side of the pencil, is the product name, 'eye BRIGHT' written in the same colour as the cosmetic itself and has a retro feel about it. It also comes in a small box that has the same style. Unlike many cosmetic brands, Benefit seems to put a great deal of effort into make each of the packaging of each product unique and special.
Ease of Use: Eyebright is surprisingly straightforward to apply. I expected for it to be complicated to get the right look from the product but my mum explained to me how she had been told to utilise it and it couldn't be easier. What I especially liked about it was the fact that the pencil could be blunt and you could still apply it. That way, you get the most out of it and not sharpening the pencil every other week.
Colour, Feel and Consistency: It is soft to use which is great as you are using it in a sensitive area. Eyebright has a silky, smooth texture but is also thick and it endures all day. As it is so soft, it is unnecessary to use an immense force when applying as you will find that you are wiping it off and wasting it. The colour of Eyebright appears a bright pink shade however when applied, it isn't quite as intense thankfully. Some of the eye highlighters that I have you in the past have irritated my eyes but I haven't had that problem with this.
Although it seems pricey, it delivers on its promise to make you look bushy-tailed and bright-eyed! You also don't have to buy a new one every two or three months, so in the long run, you may even be saving money. Benefit Eyebright is a super product to use the day after a late night. No-one will ever know you've been partying until all hours of the morning. Not from your eyes anyway. Due to the fact that you look awake, it leaves you feeling glowing.
The eye pencil is extremely long lasting. I can't yet comment as to how long as it was bought last June and it is not even halfway through its use. And this is with both me and my mum using it at least 4 times a week each.
*Would I Recommend It?*
I would highly recommend this product. It brightens up your eyes more than you could imagine it would. It is easy to use and lasts for what seems like an eternity.
*Overall*
I'm now forever pinching this from my mum's make-up bag so it is obvious to say I am a supporter of Benefit Eyebright. It is a simple product that does exactly what it claims to. Buy it and you won't be sorry.
Advantages: Makes your eyes look amazing Disadvantages: Some people may think it's expensive
Benefit Eyebright is a miraculous pink pencil that brightens tired eyes for that young, wide-awake look. You can buy it from department stores with a Benefit counter or online. I got mine from Boots for £13.50.
The basic idea is that the shade of pink that is used has a brightening effect on your eyes, whilst concealing dark shadows and making you look wide awake and radiant. It has a smooth and creamy easy to blend formula and can be used in several ... ...how I use it is just putting a little at the inner corners of the eyes and blending lightly. This really brightens up your eyes and makes you look fresher. It's important not to blend it too much or you'll lose the effect. You should still be able to see the pink colour when you've blended it or it really is a waste of time.
If you need an even more brightening effect you can draw 3 or 4 strokes of the pencil between the eyes and the bridge of the ...

...instead, in the form of BeneFit Eye Bright. Which funnily enough does exactly what it promises: it brightens eyes.
Recently I banged on about the merits of BeneFit 'Lemon Aid' for uneven hangover ravaged eyelids. Well the subtle difference between that and this product is that this is for the corners of your eyes. There you were thinking it was the same thing and that I was wasting my money again...
Eye Bright comes in a primrose yellow cardboard ... ...on the front with a cocktail. Scary, but don't be put off, inside this, hiding in a handful of shredded tissue paper, nestles a chunky pencil, black with baby pink writing, and a sturdy black lid. Pop the lid off and your eyes will instantly widen when you realise you have in effect bought a pink eyeliner. Don't panic - like the yellow eyeshadow, it's a 'Fake It' product, think of it not as make up, but as part of your base skin care routine. If ...

Advantages: makes you look more awake, nice packaging Disadvantages: on the expensive side
...However, I am a bonafide Benefit fanatic, I have to try every new product, and, truth be told, I own far too much of the stuff, always willing to try out anything they stick their name to.
I love Benefit make-up. I always find it works well, and the packaging is always so pretty it seems to count for extra. Eye Bright itself is a pencil, that looks a lot like a fat eyeliner. The stuff itself is a pink colour, which looks a bit daunting, but isn't ... ...with pink writing. All the Benefit pencil make-up products, such as Mr Frosty and BadGal eyeliner, come in boxes the same size, so all your products can be nicely stored together. It comes with detailed instructions which detail all the ingredients as well as telling you how to apply the product.
This is more of a base for make-up rather than a product in its own right. It claims that it can open up your eyes and make you look more awake, and for ...

...look brighter.
As the Benefit counter girl showed me, it can be applied to the inner corners of the eye, the outer corners and underneath the brow bone. To apply to these areas add a few strokes on the pencil and then blend in gently with your fingers using a quick dabbing motion. This leaves a pale pink highlighted area which gives an instant wide-awake look that lasts most of the day. The pencil is quite soft making it easy to add to the skin ... ...it wears down quickly and you are forever sharpening it. Apply to these areas after the rest of your eye make-up is added.
It can also be used on the lower inner rim of the eye to open up the eyes a little bit more. This gives the same but slightly more sublter effect as when you use a white eyeliner pencil on this areas. Add to the rim before you use eyeliner or mascara or you risk getting the point of the pencil covered in make-up. I must add ...
