When I walked into Boots I had no intention of buying Benefit's Georgia blush. It was the combination of 500 points when you buy 2 Benefit items and the sheer brute force of the Benefit counter assistant which ensured I purchased the peach face powder.

That day the only thing I required was a concealer - an industrial strength Benefit Bo-ing Concealer to be exact. However when the assistant spoke the dreaded words "Is there anything else?" I was powerless to resist. How could I disappoint the heavily made up lady before me? Her bambiesque eyes started to well up and her permanent smile was wavering. No, I had a heart so I mentioned that
I could do with a blush.

Enthused, the assistant reached for Georgia explaining that it would look lovely on my pale skin. I'm not really a fan of peach coloured blushers. I prefer a rosy glow - much like the colour of Dandelion by Benefit. I said this to the assistant but by that time it was too late, I was already perched on a stool having Georgia face powder dusted all over my face.

The assistant brandished the mirror proudly at me and I examined her work. I liked what I saw.

The genius of this powder is it's not specifically a blush - it can be used anywhere to highlight or define. You can layer the colour on the cheeks until your desired intensity, layer it over other blushers for an enhanced glow or lightly dust it on your temples, cheekbones, eyes and jaw line for a look that's radiant. Naturally on lighter skins it will be more visible but this powder is intended to be a part of a natural, no make-up look - so visibility isn't everything.

Think of it this way. If you are seeking that glow which all pregnant women seem to emanate but can't be bothered getting knocked up - this powder is for you.

The powder is peach scented with just the correct element of strength so it's neither over powering nor faint. It comes in a small reinforced cardboard box which is cute but for the price I would like a proper compact and mirror for on the go touch ups. Inside there is a little brush, which although really good at loading the colour onto the brush it's not too good at distributing it on to the face - it goes absolutely everywhere. The packaging design is lovely and vintage like with a peach depicted on the front.

All this comes at a price of £22.50 from Boots (other stores available). I tend to look at my Georgia powder as an investment... The truth is it lasts ages - I've had my powder for well over a year, I regularly use it and I haven't made an indentation into it yet! I do love this powder yet I always wonder whether I would have preferred Dandelion! It perks me up and stops me looking tired and washed out. Benefit I salute you.
