And bronzer’s the kind of make-up item that if you get it wrong you’ll end up looking like Kat Slater on a particularly orange day!
I’ve always been put off by bronzers that contain glitter, so when I found Benefit’s Hoola, which gives a non-glittery, matte finish I was pretty pleased! And the other thing that sold it to me was the claim that no matter how much you apply, you’ll never go orange!
Hoola is packaged in the Benefit style box, just like the Dandelion powder. It has a cute bamboo pattern on the box which, combined with the name, gives a quirky, kitsch, ‘I’ve-just-been-on-holiday-to-Hawaii’ feel. But as I’ve said before, this packaging design is highly impractical. The fact that there is no fastening on the lid means that it is liable to come off and spill a pretty dusting of bronzing powder all over your handbag! So this is strictly a ‘stay-at-home’ bronzer.
Hoola also comes with an adorable little brush which is apparently made from natural goat’s hair and fits into the space in the lid. However, I found this brush to be very poor quality (even the Benefit lady advised me to buy a proper powder brush to use this) and it doesn’t distribute the powder evenly or subtly.
I find that this bronzer has a lovely silky feel to it, giving it a luxurious feel, and it’s a lot softer than other bronzers I’ve used, meaning that it’s very easy to load up onto the brush. A light knock of the brush against the box should ensure that you don’t apply too much powder (and be sure to catch the excess powder in the box to avoid any wastage!). A quick dusting across the cheekbones and over the forehead and you’re all bronzed up and ready to go!
On application this bronzer has a very strong colour- even on my dark olive skin I have to be careful not to apply too much. And the reasoning behind the claim that ‘you’ll never go orange’ becomes clear as soon as you actually apply this: instead of the orange pigment that characterises so many bronzers, Hoola has a far more brown tone. In fact, apply too much and you achieve a rather unattractive ‘dirty’ look. Far more unattractive than orange in my opinion- I’d rather be orange than unwashed! But applied sparingly this does achieve a noticeable tan effect and I find that it does last a long time- I can apply it in the morning and still see it come 4 o’clock- so there’s no need for re-touching!
Hoola costs £22 for a box containing 11g and can be bought from larger Boots stores, Sephora, and House of Fraser beauty departments. It is the kind of make-up item that will last for ages as it has to be used so sparingly, but to me this still doesn’t represent good value for money. I certainly won't be buying another one when this runs out! So if you ever see someone who looks a bit dirty, you’ll know what make-up they’ve been using (well, either that or they just haven’t washed!)

...I was bought another benefit product which encouraged me to go to my local department store in leicester and have a look at this BENEFIT brand that I hadn't heard of before. I have to admit when i looked at the counter, the key thing I noted was the lack of prices! which were either not on the products or very discrete!
Being extremely pale but with dark brown hair I have had a continuous problem finding the right foundation or bronzer that would ... ...a lighter foundation with the BENEFIT on top. The product comes in a square box and unlike those dreaded bronzing balls do not crumble!
Overall the key points with this product are:
1. no orange pigment - if you go orange its more likely to be the wrong foundation!
2. Less is more - the product is so versatile that it is good to experiment and find out what works best for you but don't worry about your natural skin tone it can be used by anyone. ...

...the packaging is cute and Benefit themselves call it 'Barbados in a box!' It comes with a delicate and cute green brush, but me and Benefit recommend that you use a big normal powder brush to give a more even glow, no streaks and a better complexion etc. The packaging is a sweet little purple box, with Hoola written on in turquoise, bamboo sticks and what looks like a white lily. It weighs in at 11g and the box is small enough to fit in some of the ... ...also own 'You Rebel' the Benefit tinted moisturiser, and I normally apply that and then add on a teeny bit of Hoola to finish it off and give it that extra tan look. Seriously, the amount of people that go 'Oh, you look all tan and healthy! You been away?' only for me to go 'Only to the Benefit counter!' Hahaha - as you can see, I’m just one big barrel of laughs!
Hoola seems suitable for all skin tones - I have quite an olive complexion, and I tan ...

...million bucks. NOTE: I'm not sure how long this bronzer lasts, as I've only had it for about 3 weeks and I only apply it 1-2 times a week. I'm guessing it lasts a while as it's so highly priced & it's a benefit product. Happy bronzer applying! ...

Benefit have a great range of products on the market at the moment but one which has been with them from almost the begining is their Hoola bronzing powder, and it is no surprise it is still one of their best selling.
This bronzer is a miracle in a 40oz box. It comes with a brush(which i'll get to later). When I first started wearing make up I could never seem to find bronzers or blushers which didn't fade away and leave me with a whole load of ... ...have make up that old, but it still makes me as glowing as it ever did lol. The box will probably be done by the end of the year but I have no doubt that I be going straight to the benefit counter once again to get this wonderful product. ...

I came to my senses and realised that I didn't ask how much it was, and was quite shocked initially at how much it was, notably because the most I ever spend on cosmetics is about £5 max! It was £21 for the box of Hoola bronzer, which on first sights, looks a rip-off, however the quality of the product, and the fact that you don't need a lot at all, means that a box will last you about 18 months.
Two months on, I am still using it daily, and there's still heaps left. I'm really pleased with the product and will definitely buy some more once this box is done! I'm not sure I can afford to kit my face out with the entire Benefit range but it's certainly opened my eyes to higher-end products!

After reading some rave reviews about this range and it not being stocked anywhere locally, I convinced myself that I really needed to get some things from this magical range.
I visited www.boots.co.uk and with great excitement found the BeneFit department and found that I had found "make up heaven, containing pots of colour, pencils, shimmers and treatments"
The range was divided into 7 groups:
Fake its - "let no nasty wrinkle or line spoil your fun - fake its hide everything". There were 12 items in this section ranging in price from £13.50 for BeneFit smooch which seems to be a dry lip treatment in a lip gloss type container, to £22 for something called BeneFithoola, a bronzing powder.
Concealers and correctors - "get rid of wrinkles, shadows, puffs and circles for flawless finish without lines". 7 items here ranging in ...

Hmm...I'm hoping people get that title rather than thinking I'm rude. Yes I have this stuff, and it's lovely. It's full name is Bronze Universel de Chanel sun illuminator.
I am exceptionally pale and make an effort to stay out of the sun to pervent damage to my susceptible skin. Having siad this though, my face looks so much healthier, and dare i say attractive, with a bit of colour in it. I use everything...bronzing gel, tinted moisturiser, bronzer etc. I used to use Hoola by BeneFit, which was too dark for my complexion and made me look like an oompa loompa (can't spell check that, sorry). I then moved on to a limited edition pressed powder bronzer by chanel called Soleil Lumiere sunlit powder. It was available in a number of shades. I used the palest one available called 10 mirage. This was an excellent bronzer, and lasted me well ...
