Benefit cosmetics may work out a little more expensive but you do get what you pay for. A good quality lip liner is worth its weight in gold, if you have lush young lips then it emphasises that fact and when you start to get a little older and your lips begin to get thinner then a lip pencil is great for `plumping` them out.
If you are going to use lip liner then you will need to make sure that you moisturise the skin on and around your lips every single day, the lip pencil needs to be able to glide over soft skin in order to make a perfect outline.

I regularly trawl through the cosmetics on E bay and in the past I have managed to find some brilliant bargains. It is not unusual to buy an expensive cosmetic products for far less than the RRP.
The Benefit silk lip pencil cost me £7 from the internet auction site , I had bought one previously so I knew that the product was good.

Benefit have given their customers a good clean white streamline lip pencil and the pencil itself is soft and creamy which makes it easy to apply. In the past I have bought cheaper lip pencils but they have proved difficult to apply because the colour is so hard it will not glide along the outline of your lips, it prefers to make a jagged and unnatural line that stands out a mile.

Although I always put my lip liner pencils into the fridge before I sharpen them, I like them to be at room temperature when I am going to use them. If the pencil is soft and creamy then it is easy to make the perfect outline.
You get a lot of pencil for your money, Benefit have not short changed us and once the silk lip pencil has been applied the effect does last.

Benefit have produced the lip pencil in six different shades and I have a shade called `Posh`. This is a fairly natural pinky shade that will be suitable for everyday use.
Once my top coat of lipstick is on then I like to seal it in with a lip pencil, if the outer line of lip pencil is blended into the coat of lipstick then it definitely defines the lips, giving them shape and substance. Usually I will grab a small brush or a sponge applicator to blend the lip pencil into the lipstick but Benefit have come up with the bright idea of incorporating a sponge at the end of the pencil. The sponge has a good pointed head to it so it is easy to angle into the corners of your mouth and if the sponge needs a wash then you can just run it under the tap and clean it off.

Benefit have put plastic caps at both ends of the lip pencil so this helps to keep the product clean and germ free when you store it in your make-up bag.
