Everything about them signal quality and attention to detail. Marble tops of valves are a very nice touch, not essential but very nice. There are two triggers for the first and third valve which is a nice touch for keeping your intonation correct on notes that need it.
The case which is supplied is very professional looking and comes complete with two locks, stopping anyone having a nose around your instrument.
One thing I must say if you are going to try one of these instruments, do not expect a great sound out of it if you are not using a suitable mouthpiece. Many learners start off with a 7c, this is a very narrow mouthpiece allowing learners to reach higher notes with less difficulty. I use a size 4 mouthpiece allowing for a better tone which in my opinion suits me and the instrument.
Now the difference in the size of the bore, a medium is supposedly meant for a more mellow tone and a large is for full projected tone. At the moment i prefer the large bore as I play with only one other person on my part in a brass band. Using this instrument allows me to have a good tone but also a powerful tone.
The price is worth it as the quality is fantastic. Do shop around and get the best deal you can and you will not be dissapointed. I have had mine for about ten years now and it looks good as new. Take care of your new pride and joy.
