AVOID BESTPRICEDBRANDS if you want a trouble-free, transparent internet buying process. This is the dodgiest company I have ever had dealings with - they are plain cheats. There is also doubt as to whether they are genuinely a UK company too.

Please, please, please be very wary of buying anything from bestpricedbrands. In fact do not order unless you want to lose your money.
I ordered a canon 50mm 1.4 lens at £220. The website showed 12 units in stock but after placing the order, even weeks after, it still showed 12.
The next day I tried to log into my account and it did not regonise 'by account name or email address. I email bestpricedbrands and they took over a week to reply saying ... ...address and signed the email with quote HAVE A NICE DAY". You write an email to this company and they take weeks to reply and when they do they haven't answered your questions or resolved your issue. This leaves you very frustrated. They eventually emailed, after I had sent many emails asking for information as they had debited my credit card, saying they had found my order but the item was out of stock though funnily enough it was still showing ...

Advantages: NONE Disadvantages: SELL FAULTY EQUIPMENT, NO REPLY TO CUSTOMERS AFTER PURCHASE, US BASED, SCAM
DO NOT BUY FROM BESTPRICEBRANDS.CO.UK - BIG SCAM COMPANY This is a company that presents itself as a UK company but in fact it's in US. They sell FAULTY EQUIPMENT and once you receive the goods they don't reply to you emails (no telephone number). I purchased a Sony Vaio laptop for £800. Once it has arrived I realized it was for US market only, it had plug with a cheap adaptor and a guarantee valid in US only. This was not shown on the website anywhere ... ...As if that wasn't enough, very soon, a month later, my laptop started behaving funny, constantly crashing. I wrote to them, NO REPLY. I realized that sending it to US would cost so much so I just thought I'd take it to a repair at my own cost to a Sony center. People who did a repair told me a shocking thing, the computer inside had a stamp saying that IT WAS OPEN BEFORE!! I had to buy a NEW HARDISC since this one had a fault (and imagine how costly ...

Advantages: Cheap Disadvantages: Can't get hold of them and they send faulty cameras back to you!!!
I sent my Canon camera back to best priced brands in November 2008 as it was faulty. UPS came to collect and I was told by Best priced brands via email that it would take 3 weeks to replace. When it got to January and i hadn't received my camera i was concerned so i emailed them only to receive no reply, so i emailed them again and again and again, eventually getting a reply after about a month. They said that they hadn't forgotten about me and my ... ...at the beginning of MARCH! But..... the camera was dented badly and after charging the battery i then found out the best bit..... the camera didn't work!!! AAAAAAAARGH!!!!! After emailing them 3 days ago, still no reply! Avoid this company at all costs!! There is no way of contacting them other than by email. ...

Advantages: Good prices Disadvantages: Not clear where the stock is posted from, you could pay high taxes
Best priced brands gives the impression that it is based in the UK with prices shown in pounds sterling and with a reference to the Royal Mail. It is not based here, but instead in the USA. The reviewer above says that it does not matter, as they are all made in the Far East, but it does as you are liable to import taxes and fees if the package is intercepted by UK Customs. Before purchase consider this: if your package is intercepted then you will ... ...or the courier will charge you about £10-15 for processing the tax on your behalf. You could end up paying much more than you expected and even more than you would buy buying from a UK shop. Then again, it could slip through and you could get a bargain. The question is; do you feel lucky? ...
