We organised a baby shower for my sister and as we were unaware of the sex of the baby any could be used we were not just restricted to blue or pink which definately made the theme easier to coordinate.
Instead of having one big cake, we opted for cupcakes as they were all the rage and are delicious. I spoke to my friend who made 30 cupcakes for me and decorate them in pinks and blues.
The biggest problem was had was displaying them I could hire a cake stand but this seemed very costly when i looked into it and they also held larger quantities. So I shopped around online and came across this inexpensive 3 tier glass cake stand from Betterware.
This was far more cost effective to purchase and the great new is that I get to keep it and use it again and again and again. There are three tiers that vary in size and they are made of glass. The stand is easy to assemble and can be taken apart with ease and stored in the cupboard taking up minimal space.
There are three glass tiers and each is seperated by a chrome effect pole and at the top there is a hook so that you can support the top of the tier as well as the bottom should you need to move it.
The great thing about this stand is that the glass is flat, most cake stands I looked at have plates and they have a slant which meant that the cakes slid in towards the centre of the stand. There is also no edge which means that you can squeeze a larger quantity of cakes on each tier.
I was suprised how strong and sturdy this cake stand is, especially as it is collapasable. There is one concern and as each tier is made of glass so you need to be careful when handling as the glass could easily break.
This made the baby shower cupcakes look amazing as it is glass light also shines between the tiers showing off the cupcakes in all of their glory.
