This game has great appeal for children - anything with mario and sonic in would - but is also appealing to adults due to its playability.
Basically, various characters (mario, sonic, luigi, peaches, yoshi...) compete in the popular events of the olympic - track and field such as long jump, high jump, 100m, hammer, swimming, trampolining, archery. You control the players and therefore, there is excellent multiplayer functionality. It's a great game to play at parties (I've found the table tennis particularly popular) as well as with the children.
It's a great game and there's loads of different events to choose from and try to master. Therefore, it'll be a while before you even start to get bored with it. However, the controls for some of theevents can be very tiring, due to what you need to do with the Wii remote. Swimming ...

Nintendo's had a great idea with this one: a game which appeals to fans of Mario, Sonic, sports games, and children who want a brightly coloured game thats a lot of fun. I think you'd have to look far to find someone who couldn't find anything to like in this game.
In this game, you get to play a variety of Olympics sports on the wii, either against the computer or with a group of friends, providing you have enough controllers. You can choose between 20 characters, who are all from the Mario games on Nintendo or Sonic's Sega games, for example you can play as Tails, Yoshi, Amy, and even Princess Daisy, who my friends tell me is from the first Mario adventure. This game combines two clasic icons, mario and sonic, back from my hay day as a 12 year old. This game utilizes the wii controls and brings a new diemension to this type of game. Theres an absolute ton of different type of sports to get involve with, shooting, sprinting, swimming, jumping, dancing, and horse riding.
You start the game with a limited amount of disciplines to take part in, but the more your do, the more you open up. My favorite is the 100m sprint, but my wifes is the trampoline, inwhich you have to match certain jumps with movements from your wii remote.
The only problem with this game, is that you'll start sweating at some point palying it. Its a fantasic family game, or an adult game after a couple of beers ...
