Amber, Jazz and Geena have finally secured their auntie's engagement to the gorgeous Mr Arora, but now it's time for a little romance of their own. There's a gorgeous new boy at school called Rocky. He looks divine, loves music and is seriously well-off - his parents have built him his own recording studio. But which of the sisters does he like best? As they vie for his attention, the sisters come up with ever more intricate tricks to outdo each other and catch his attention. Amber thinks she's bound to capture his heart when she invites him to DJ and perform at Auntie's wedding. But when the girls are invited round to hear Rocky sing, Amber realises she's made a big mistake. It's going to be a huge headache to sort this one out - but if she doesn't, every guest at the wedding will have a worse one! Even working together, Amber, Jazz and Geena can't work out how to stop it happening, but a great idea comes from an unexpected source and the girls, of course, bounce back again. Advantages: An entertaining and informative biography Disadvantages: Could be passed over by non Laurel and Hardy Fans
...This excellent biography tells the story of Oliver Hardy , the larger half of the world famous duo. This is an affectionate tribute to an accomplished actor and a truly gentle man . He was christened " Babe" by an Italian barber early in his film career. Stan was the ideas person and Ollie always deferred to his greater innovative skill , although throughout their careers Ollie was more accomplished in front of the camera. However, Ollie's life was not all laughter. He despised being overweight all his life and felt uncomfortable when people who met him commented that they did not realise he was so big.He thought they meant fat , when people were suprised at his height when they met , he being over 6 feet. It was only in later years that Ollie found the true happiness which eluded him for most of his life. This is a superb book ,full...

Goth-Babe Review ofJane Eyre - Charlotte Bronteby
yingli.lim
Advantages: Definitely readible and is a good reflection of women at that time Disadvantages: The ending is arguably a little too idealistic.
...So Charlotte Bronte insists that Jane is a plain Jane. Anyway the title Goth-babe was just a joke seeing as to the gothic nature of the novel and how in some parts of this country, looking goth is in.
Basically, it's a love story. More often than not, these classics are actually love stories set in their period to reflect issues of society and the distinctions between gender and class. As I was studying this novel for A-Level literature, the term "doubly-oppressed" comes to mind when reading Jane Eyre. A woman of no social stature (no money and no position) and a woman by nature. Oppressed under the circumstances of being a woman and having no social position to enhance her situation. However, you will find that at the end of the novel, there is some sort of a compromise between the characters Jane and Rochester such that their social...
