Advantages: Really nice little set Disadvantages: The sharpener makes a bit of a mess!
~~*~~*~~ Boldmere Clutch Pencil Set ~~*~~*~~
Bless my mother - she seems to think I have a talent that at 31 needs nurturing. I'm definitely no artist - I have no talent but I do quite enjoy drawing, dunno why, maybe it just takes me away from the mundane routine of dog-related tasks or possibly because it requires very little strenuous movement. Either way, for Chrimbo I was very thoughtfully given the Boldmere Clutch Pencil Set. At first, I was sceptical - could this pencil really be any different to the mini blue ones we've stolen from the crazy golf course each time we've been? Actually, it is.
~~ What's in the set? ~~
For your hard earned pennies you'll receive a lovely clutch pencil (more about what the hell a clutch pencil is later), 3 graphite leads and a kneadable putty rubber all contained within a pencil tin ...
Mike & The Mechanics - Hits
I am still busy transferring CD's to iTunes and I am getting to the last 100 or so now. This is a CD that my wife originally bought, one I had already purged for 'Living Years' so I have taken the opportunity to listen to it again, though from memory it was not great.
I like the fact that in the inner booklet they state clearly that these 'hits' were hits in various places in the World, not just UK. The 'Hits' span 11 years from 1985 (Silent running) - 1996 (All I need is a Miracle '96).
The band were/are:
Paul Carrack (used to be in Squeeze)
Paul Young (used to be in Sad Café), Paul died of a heart attack in 2000.
Mike Rutherford (used to be in Genesis)
Adrian Lee
Peter Van Hooke
Gary Wallis
So, we have a high class and well connected line up, but what about the 'Hits'?
~~~The Tracks ...
Back to school I am thinking about the things we use there and we have lots of Berol hand hugger colouring pencils.
Berol has developed these triangular pencils for children who are developing their colouring skills. They are easier to hold than the round colouring pencils. The triangular shapes helps children to hold them in a correct grip. Some of my disabled pupils find these easier to hold than standard pencils.
The surface of the crayon is a slip resistant texture; it does not slip out of my students sweaty palms so easily. The hand hugger colouring pencil is comfortable to hold.
These pencils do not splinter.
The leads of these pencils are strong do not break easily. There is a good range or 12 colours available giving a 6mm wide line.
To sharpen these pencils you do need a big pencil, sharpener
