For those of you that have used the cooker top version of this, and in fact also for this who haven't, this coffee machine is simplicity itself, as the name suggests Mocha easy. Simply unscrew, the coffee maker, and remove metal filter system, put in the base the desired amount of water needed, replace filter system, top with dry mocha coffee, available from most shopping outlets, screw the maker back together, and place on electrical stand and turn on, The hot water is siphoned from the base, through a central tube, and then filtered back down through the coffee, which gives of a superb aroma in the process. Once boiling process is complete, simply pour into mocha style cups and enjoy.
If you've never had a mocha coffee before, you will probably find about twice the amount of sugar is needed compared to your usual drink, as it can be quite a bitter experience, very nice if you add a touch of Whisky or Brandy, but if at all possible try it with Italian Grappa, an Italian firewater with a real kick.
Having lived in Italy I got used to drinking this on a regular basis, but all you new comers to mocha coffee be warned, you can get what the Italians describe as the itches, where your skin literally start to itch like mad, basically this is because of the high caffeine intake, not the best of drinks to be serving the kids.
Cleaning the machine is a simple process, remove from heat source unscrew, remove filter system and wash everything thoroughly, Do not put back together until everything is complete dry, as this forms an unsightly residue..
Available from many outlets for between £35 - £40.00.
Does get very hot on the outside, only use carrying handle, and with care.
