A long time ago I used to watch bid-up.tv, and I had gone of it, but as I had remembered the price of the product that they was selling would go up, but now I have just turned on the television to watch bidup.tv and the price is going down and its not called bid up tv but bid tv. I have checked with the other reviews and I assure you this is the same channel as what the topic says but it has just been renamed.

-*-*- How does the system work? -*-*-
On the TV there will be a presenter who will be showing off the product and probably explaining how the system works and there will be a box next to it saying the price that the product is at then that's the most you will pay for that product if you want it. And then underneath that there will be a small number this is the quantity that bid TV have in stock once this number gets down to zero then the auction would have finished. As I said just a second ago you will see the price that the product is selling for, this will decrease all the time, when the old way of the channel was working this price would go up until the quantity have gone down to zero. Once you ring up you may be given a description of the product that you are bidding on but sometimes you may not, once you have pressed the number 1 on your phone the quantity on the TV would have gone down by one because you have reserved your place on the product whatever the price is at the end of the auction that's what you'll pay.
-*-*- How do I pay? -*-*-
As you are watching the auction and you decide to bid and you confirm your bid all you will leave is your number and the bid up TV crew will ring you back within the next hour to collect the rest of your details. One of the essentials that you need to bid on is a credit card now you may seem that this is a bit obvious but you will be surprised how many times people ring without a credit card and you may ask how I know this but I know it because the presenter always says this. After you have placed your order and they have rang you back it will take about 7 days for the product to arrive at your front door.
-*-*- What's the catch? -*-*-
Basically there is no catch but there are a few pricy prices. Most products are about £5 P+P even if they are a toothbrush so that is a little bit of a rip off but I suppose that is ok because the prices for the products are so cheap. And maybe another catch is that the phone call costs £1 but again because the prices of the products are so low it makes up for it. I mean a watch that started off at £100 came down to £13 plus phone call and P+P a Slazenger watch came to £19 and you can't really argue about that price.
I think overall that this is a good TV channel for those who just likes to watch a presenter blabbing on about products (that's one thing I get annoyed about) or for those serious shoppers,
All in all I would give this 8/10
www.bid.tv that's the website if you would like to check it out.

...they can phone up and bid for the products. All items start at just a pound so you have a chance of a real bargin.
Unlike it's sister channel, the idea of Bid-Up is the more people that call up to purchase the item the higher the price goes. For example if they have fourty sets of pans once fourty people have called up with a bid the price will increase.
If you've never bid before you might think you're getting a good deal but you need to read ... ...pound. If you place a bid of say twenty pound but the price goes above this amount you will need to phone up and bid again which will cost you another pound.
Also look at the postage before calling. Most items cost around six pounds or more and you'll have to wait at least a week to receieve your product which isn't good service seen as you paid a lot for the postage.
Once you've called the onscreen number to purchase an item you will see your ...

There are various auctions throughout the day for a wide range of goods. HOW TO PAY
Most normal plastic.
DELIVERY AND CHARGES
The minimum P & P charge is currently £6.95. Quite excessive for a pair of sunglasses, but not too bad for heavier/bulky items. Bigger items are more expensive. Delivery is stated to be ‘about 7 days’, but more on that later.
WEB SITE
Yes they have a web site, but I don’t thing I am allowed to advertise it ... ...but adequate. You can bid online, using an ID and PIN number you receive when you register. You can leave a maxi bid (the most you are prepared to bid) and go to bed if you wish.
An additional feature on the web site is a ‘web exclusive auction’. Normally odd bits of dross that didn’t sell in the main auctions.
Items are listed by category, and you can see what’s on offer a day or so in advance.

They sell a whole variety of stuff from music, household goods to DVD's, toys and much, much more.

Advantages: You can get luxury designer goods on the cheap. Disadvantages: Selling stuff that probably will not shift.
I have bought a number of items from this channel. On the whole I can say that I have been reasonably satisfied.
I bought a tallboy (small chest of drawers), a monks bench, a coffee table, and a small cabinet locker all of which are from the archdale collection. I have also purchased a small rechargeable chainsaw, and a stephen gayford limited edition print.
All the furniture items were in the price bracket of £28 - £43 incl p+p. The chainsaw was ... ...The most useful item has to be the coffee table which continues to serve me well. The cabinet locker is also nice but the other items have been smaller than I thought, oddly designed or shaped, and in the case of the limited edition print, a little bit tacky.
Whilst everything has proven to be fully functional, complete and in good condition (not always perfect condition), the items are often peculiar. For example the coffee table comes with one ...

of software for £19. The price in a well known computer store was £19. For each individual title!
Do I have any advice? Yes. Before you bid, watch both BidUp and Price Drop for several days. You?ll notice that some items go for much less at certain times of the day and also certain times of the week. Only buy things that you need and are actually looking for.
I looked at a watch in a local department store and decided that although I had been looking for a watch for several weeks, I really didn?t want to pay the ?discounted sale price? of over £60. On BidTV/Price Drop I found the same watch for less than £20. I am wearing it (and a nice zipped cardie!) that I bought for £6 as I type this review.
Buying is easy. On a falling price auction there is a dedicated phone number for the item that is being auctioned. The price falls as do ...

Biduptv and its sister channels, price-drop tv and speed auction, which are all part of 'sit-up channels'.
They are shopping channels which are easy to view and easier to order from.
**WHERE IS IT?**
Bid-uptv is found on freeview channel 23, Virgin channel 745 and Sky channel 644.
**WHAT IS IT?**
It is a shopping channel which sells everything from Kitchen essentials, like pots and pans, plates, crockery, to electrical equipment, like television, DVD recorders and much, much more, at a very low price.
Each lot is sold in quantities, depending on what is in stock. It is aired for as long as it takes for the quantity to sell.
Who ever buys will always pay the final lowest price when the product sells out.
** THE SHOW**
Firstly, there are different presenters working through out the day and into the small hours ...

Advantages: variety of items, get expensive things for less, fun Disadvantages: postage costs, losing out on items, repetition of items
It was about a year ago I had heard a woman talking about a certain TV channel where she had saved so much money and become so addicted that she had to stop watching the channel. She told me those 3 digits and then my life was officially taken over. That magic number is 647 for sky viewers. These numbers are not just any numbers but the key to the channel that is.... biduptv.
So, it did start a year ago and I think that is now enough experience on the channel to review it. Firstly the whole concept is that items will come up and you bid for them hoping to win. There is biduptv and price drop tv both run by the same company and have more recently started to become similar.
So there are a range of items sold from tables, towels, to clothing it really is a wide variety. All are put up with a guide price which some may say is not ...
