**WHERE IS IT?**
Bid-up tv is found on freeview channel 23, Virgin channel 745 and Sky channel 644.
**WHAT IS IT?**
It is a shopping channel which sells everything from Kitchen essentials, like pots and pans, plates, crockery, to electrical equipment, like television, DVD recorders and much, much more, at a very low price.
Each lot is sold in quantities, depending on what is in stock. It is aired for as long as it takes for the quantity to sell. Who ever buys will always pay the final lowest price when the product sells out.
** THE SHOW**
Firstly, there are different presenters working through out the day and into the small hours. They all do a good job in 'selling' the product they have at the time. The presenter will chat through out the product airing, sometimes waffling all sorts of stuff just to fill the time until the product has sold out.
**THE LOOK**
Usually on the left side of the screen there is a price above the quantity guide, you watch as the price drops until the quantity reaches zero and the little orange triangle snaps into its home inside the blue triangle, (sounds technical but it's easy really).
The item which is being offered is described by the presenter in great detail and a brief description runs along the bottom of the screen inside a blue border.
Every now and again the names of the people who have purchased the item on sale will appear along the bottom of the screen.
That's it… the look of the TV screen is simple and the products are sold in the same manner.
**EXTRA COST**
There is a standard delivery price of £7.99 (although some items may cost more), the delivery charge is shown on the screen below the telephone number, (which cost £1.50 to call and order).
**BUYING**
Buying from the channel is so easy, all you need is a telephone and a credit card. Once you have decided what to buy you then phone the number on the top left of the screen and, when connected, press 1 on your keypad.
*Simple as that…….***
The first time you order using the telephone you will get a call back from a friendly person working for Bid-up. They will take your details, such as name, address and credit/debut card details, then they will issue you with a PIN for you to use on further purchases, (this eliminate the need for call backs).
**OTHER WAYS OF BUYING**
You can also open up an on-line account at there website… www.bid.tv (or www.price-drop.tv or www.speedauction.tv ). This is a different way to buy and save you on the cost of the telephone call, but you can 'bid' for an item days before it appears on the tv.
**RETURNS**
They have a 10 day returns policy if you are not satisfied with the product bought but as I have never had to return anything I can not comment on this service.
**PERSONNAL EXPERIENCE**
I have purchased several item from Bid-up (and price drop) tv, ( ie… a digital camera, selections of DVDs, video games, kitchen equipment and even clothing). Once ordered, the goods have been delivered with-in a few days, which I must say is very impressive. The items ordered are of good quality considering the low price you end up paying. The security regarding your credit/debit card detail is of high quality so there is no fear in giving your details over the telephone.
**IN CONCLUSION**
Bid-up tv (as all the 'sit up' channels) are a cheap and easy way to buy most product from the comfort of your armchair. The products are of good quality and arrive at your door in a matter of days. The channels are well worth a look, even if you just want to see what's on offer. You never know, you might be tempted to buy.

There is something about the British character that causes some awful selective blindness about everything that we do. Some mental ragged remnant of the British Empire that makes us believe, despite all evidence to the contrary, that we have the best football, cricket and rugby teams in the world. We make the best cars, ships and chocolate. Our railways are a by-word for reliability and our policemen are brave, incorruptible, loyal public servants. ... ...am as ready as the next man to don the rose-coloured spectacles, but that last one is giving me real problems. Was it ever true? When I look back to the supposed golden age of television, the sixties and the seventies, what do I see. For every ‘Steptoe and Son’ there was a ‘Love Thy Neighbour’ and ‘On The Buses’, for every ‘Morecambe and Wise’ a ‘’Little and Large’ and ‘Cannon and Ball’ (if you’re too young to remember these don’t worry, you missed ...

Bid TV is a lot of fun.
I was talking to someone recently who told me that Bid TV and it's sister service, Price Drop were "not very good." How did he know this? It seemed that someone who he knew had read something in a newspaper. Or something, or other. He was very hazy on the details. And the more we talked, the clearer it became that he really was not talking from a position based on knowledge!
Several weeks later I started watching Bid TV ... ...a Digital tuner for our TV set and had been flicking through the channels.
The first thing I noticed was that the auction staff were very friendly and had obviously been chosen for their friendly natures and their ability to work under pressure and without a script and with no teleprompt device! These two channels are great to watch, even if you do not buy anything, as they are the only examples of entertaining live TV that I can think of. Things ...

...(QVC, Shop!, Ideal World, Screenshop) Bid-up.tv has to be the best because of it's unique auction-style shopping and it's HUGE savings on products.
At first, the concept maybe quite hard to follow (especially if you have never used an auction before) but it's really easy to use and you will soon become completely addicted! E.g There are 5 televisions at a RRP of £200.00 but Bid-up will start the bidding at £20.00. Once there are 5 or more bidders ... ...have to 'bid-up' if you want the product. They also run great adverts showing how to 'play' and after watching these a couple of times you will soon become an auction expert.
They have fantastic brand name products which go for virtually next to nothing. The shopping hours are:
Switched on: You will find everthing here including televisions, videos, DVD players, MP3 players, Mini-disc players, camcorders and plenty more.

Advantages: Cheap, different, fun, helpful, fast, reliable, novel, exciting, funny, useful and easy to get addicted! Disadvantages: I honestly can't think of any!!!
...the usual, mainstream items.
bid-up.tv has taken that concept and evolved and expanded it. On no other channel or web site can anything even close to bid-up.tv be found. The products are totally unique, the presenters not only come across as friendly, funny and knowledgable, but you really can choose the price you want to pay.
bid-up.tv is just that - an auction on your TV. I have done most of my Christmas shopping from there this year!
Something ... ...health and beauty to jewellery, bid-up.tv have always had the product I have required. Their product range doesn't seem to stagnate either. Whereas some shopping channels sell the same products for months on end, I have always found that bid-up.tv always renew and update the products on offer.
Bidding for the products is not only unique, it's also fun. Watching the price rise and hoping that I won't be outbid makes buying the items seem enjoyable ...

...--------- INTRODCUTION ---------
bid-up.tv is slightly different to conventional shopping in the fact that you pay ‘what you want to pay’ for the goods and not an actual asking price. It sounds interesting doesn’t it? So what’s the catch? Well they only have a certain number of the specified items for auction per day and if you’re not one of the highest bidders, you don’t get one.
For those of you that weren’t fully awake during my last sentence, ... ...never hear of again. bid-up.tv is different, you know where and whom you bought the goods from and you can actually return the item if there’s a problem or even if you simply don’t like it.
~~~~~~~~~~ Now that I’ve introduced you to bid-up.tv I hope you’ll stay with me for the rest of the opinion as I talk you through how to join and get the most from the fascinating world of this live interactive auction channel ~~~~~~~~~
A long time ago I used to watch bid-up.tv, and I had gone of it, but as I had remembered the price of the product that they was selling would go up, but now I have just turned on the television to watch bidup.tv and the price is going down and its not called biduptv but bidtv. I have checked with the other reviews and I assure you this is the same channel as what the topic says but it has just been renamed.
-*-*- What is bid - up.tv? -*-*-
Biduptv is a television channel that is available on sky and now freeview (I sound like an advert). I used to have sky but because of some reasons we got rid of it, and one of my favorite channels on sky was bid-up.tv so we downgraded to freeview and I have recently re- scanned my box and I have bidup-tv. Anyway bidtv (I will use that now for short) is an auction based TV channel, where ...
Advantages: None Disadvantages: Cheap Goods, Poor Service
I recently reviewed Price-Drop.TV so thought I would share my thoughts about Bid-up.TV.
Bid-Up.TV launched a few years ago on Sky and is now also on Freeview, channel 23. Viewers will see a product onscreen such as a pan set or bike and they can phone up and bid for the products. All items start at just a pound so you have a chance of a real bargin.
Unlike it's sister channel, the idea of Bid-Up is the more people that call up to purchase the item the higher the price goes. For example if they have fourty sets of pans once fourty people have called up with a bid the price will increase.
If you've never bid before you might think you're getting a good deal but you need to read the onscreen information. The cost of a phone call to the company is a pound. If you place a bid of say twenty pound but the price goes above this amount ...
Advantages: Bidding on items Disadvantages: Can spend too much money!
I can't believe I've not written an opinion since February! Sorry folks for slacking, but I'm back on track now!
Anyway, I'm here to talk about Bid-Up.tv! This channel is on page 647 on Sky Digital. Basically, it's an auction site where you can bid for items via telephone. It starts at 8am in the morning, and runs right throughout the day until late at night.
They sell a whole variety of stuff from music, household goods to DVD's, toys and much, much more.
If you see an item you would like to bid on, it's really easy. You phone the number on the screen, and you will come across an automated system. That's great in this respect, as it's really easy! You will be asked to place a bid. The minimum about will be shown on the TV. You press the number of pounds you wish to bid, say 10, then the hash (#) key, then number 1 to ...
