Amogst the vast array of shopping channels that are around at the moment (QVC, Shop!, Ideal World, Screenshop) Bid-up.tv has to be the best because of it's unique auction-style shopping and it's HUGE savings on products.
At first, the concept maybe quite hard to follow (especially if you have never used an auction before) but it's really easy to use and you will soon become completely addicted! E.g There are 5 televisions at a RRP of £200.00 but Bid-up will start the bidding at £20.00. Once there are 5 or more bidders the reserve price will go up and effectivly you will have to 'bid-up' if you want the product. They also run great adverts showing how to 'play' and after watching these a couple of times you will soon become an auction expert.
They have fantastic brand name products which go for virtually next to nothing. The shopping hours are:
Switched on: You will find everthing here including televisions, videos, DVD players, MP3 players, Mini-disc players, camcorders and plenty more. Best buy i have seen: An MP3 player worth £260.00 go for £150.00 - bargain.
Jewellrey - Well exactly that - loads of jewellrey including bracelets, chains, watches and earrings. Best buy i have seen: An 18ct gold unisex chain worth £795.00 go for £294.00!!!
Collectors lot - Here you will find a lot (haha) of signed prints and posters along with TY Beanies, roly-polys and much more. Best buy i have seen: An Eminem signed framed album worth £2230.00 go for £1560.00.
Play - All things for kids including soft toys, remote control cars, scooby-doo, looney toons, star wars and loads more. Best buy i have seen: Remote controlled car worth £120.00 go for £40.00.
Sport - Gym equipment, bikes, sportswear, sports watches are in this auction hall. Best buy i have seen: A mountain bike worth £220.00 go for £85.00.
Wine&Dine - Champagne, white & red wines and bottles openers in here. Best buy i have seen: The champagne always goes cheap - HOORAY!
There is also a bargain bidding hour where the bidding for all products starts at just £1.00 so this is the perfect time to have a go and make your first bid.
Presenters are down to earth, wacky and completely mad! Because it's a live auction they often make cock-ups which makes them very entertaining and less wooden than presenters of other shopping channels.
Delivery charges varies for each item although i have never seen it go above £6.00. Delivery usually takes 5 working days but i have received mine in a quicker time than that before now.
The customer service is excellent. I have only ever had to return an item once, the telephone operator was helpful and polite and my credit card was refunded within 3 days. When your bid for a product is a winning bid then you will have an operator phone you back usually within 1/2 an hour to take payment details (credit/debit cards only) and delivery information.
Call charges are a tad expensive to bid at 60p per minute although they claim that you can place a single bid for just 40p. But considering you are saving a considerable amount of money on everything you buy, the call costs almost seem reasonable. Because you are making a single bid you can only buy 1 item at a time (e.g you cannot order 2 watches at once) but that's just being picky. That is unless you are bidding via their website when this actually becomes possible.
This is a great new concept for a shopping channel and is proving very populalr (everyone i have told about it has already ordered atleasts 3 things from them and i am on my 14th item!!) If you are into auctions or just into shopping then turn to channel 647 immediatly!!!
