Nintendo's version of a small brain..?

Advantages: Allows Game Data To Be Saved/ Cheaper Than A 251 block card
Disadvantages: Doesn't Store Much Game Data.

I think (well, I know actually...) that pretty much every Gamecube game requires the assistance of a memory card in order to save game data, due to the fact you can not save progress on to a disc. However, most Nintendo fans will be aware that up until 2000 Nintendo were utilising cartridge based games, and so games could be saved directly on to the cart. So what do you do? Well, the solution can only be one thing really. Acquire a better quality card or a memory card with more block space to it. What is block space? Well, every Nintendo Gamecube game will state on the box at the back how many "blocks" of memory it requires to be saved successfully. You will discover that most Gamecube games demand between 1 - 5 blocks of memory. You can purchase two varieties of memory card for the Gamecube. A 251 block memory card and a 59 ...

Xbox 360 Memory Unit

Advantages: Can transport gamesaves and Gamercard information | Light and easy to transport |
Disadvantages: Over-priced | Very little storage |

The Xbox 360 Memory Unit serves as a useful tool for taking your game saves and Gamercard with you wherever you go. The small memory card fits into one of the slots in front of the Xbox 360 console, and it is then registered as a new storage device immediately. Any game saves can then be automatically saved to your Memory Unit. If you have files that you wish to move onto your Unit then it is very simple and quick to do so. The file you wish to add to your Memory Unit simply has to be moved from the Hard Drive via the Memory menu on the Xbox 360 Dashboard, a process that is very easy indeed. From there it can be moved back to your own console whenever you wish it to be. Whilst this is handy for moving your files around, it definately isn't recommended as a permanent storage solution, simply because of the small size. Notably, the 64MB ...

Second Time Lucky!

Advantages: Excellent Quality/Lots of save space
Disadvantages: N/A

You have just opened your new birthday or Christmas present - a Nintendo Gamecube! You have those 3 games you also wanted to go along with it also, you have 2 controllers and you are ready to have a friend join in on the action. You both play Mario Kart: Double Dash and win plenty of gold trophies. You are then thrown in to a rage of anger due to the fact you have a corrupt cheap brand memory card, or a memory card with a small saving capacity and you can't save much on it, thus your hard work going unsaved. I think pretty much every Gamecube game requires the assistance of a memory card to save game data, due to the fact you can not save progress on a disc. However, most Nintendo fans will be aware that up until 2000 Nintendo were utilising cartridge based games, and so games could be saved directly on to the cart. So what do you do ...
