Check regularly for my updated opinions: ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ At the time of writing, I'm actually using BigFix to update my outdated McAfee Virus Scan engine, which was detected earlier by BigFix. That's sort of like a preview of what BigFix really is. So, what's so cool about BigFix then? (I hear you ask).
Basically all about it. Technically, BigFix is a FREE download utility sofware that when connected to the internet, will check and gathers information from your PC and giving the best solution to it. This includes searching for outdated softwares, detecting any fragment drives, reminding errors on disks and etc.
From there, BigFix will display the list of things called fixlets that you can choose, with links to click on. So far, BigFix has 4 main categories of fixlets from Tucows(a free popular download site), Win98, Fixlet Central and BigFix itself. These fixlets will then be used by users to update any stuff that needs to be updated for their PC.
BigFix is also a utility that fixes bugs and viruses before they create problems. BigFix is designed for early detection of configuration conflicts, bugs, or viruses in your computer. It then provides quick, automated solutions for dealing with problems before they bother you. Recent updates have included an improved diagnostic engine, a new help system and tutorial, and faster synchronization with sites. (modified from cnet.com)
CNET download site rates 92% thumbs-up for BigFix which speaks for itself of how reliable BigFix is as a super 'updater and fixer' software for your PC. The installation is easy and done in a jiffy since the file is not that big(2MB in size), smaller than any standard MP3 size!
