Henrys big bad/fab book review!

The main difference with these books is they are all in colour, many of the older books are all black and white with pictures being decipherable but somewhat scribbly! The book I will now review is - ?Horrid Henry?s big bad book by Francesca Simon? There are ten stories in total included in the book, alongside these are pages of interest to the child reader, fact files of the characters, funny notes sent between Henry and his arch nemesis Moody Margaret and many more, very funny to read I can tell you. Henry?s new teacher - Henry has had a rotten report card for the year, he?s quite happy with that fact, not really caring a jot, but after returning to school he realises that things are going to be different. Going to School - another term starts!

Advantages: A lovely book offering an insight into a child's first day at school.
Disadvantages: None

's reaction of being shy and her mum being allowed to stay with her to help her settle in. My daughter tells me that this is exactly what happened when my granddaughter started school as she had remember the story and asked her mummy to stay for a while. My granddaughter now tells me what she has been up to at school and relates back to the experiences of Polly and Percy that she met in the story and talks about what the children in her class get up to. A lovely entertaining book offering an insight into first days of school. Highly recommended especially as this book can be bought on web sites for a lot less than the RRP. A BIG day at the 'Big' School

Advantages: good story nd illustrations
Disadvantages: It doesn't really tell enough about starting school

big children who are already there. The story gets a bit sidetracked after this though when Billy finds an injured little bird in the garden and starts to look after it and starts nursing it. At the same time though the book shows Billy's mum getting everything ready for school for him. This takes up to about halfway through the book and Billy is going to start his school. Before he does he opens his window and lets the small bird fly away saying that they will both need to learn to look after themselves. The last few pages show Billy at school doing lots of exciting things and making many new friends. When the teacher asks the class about their pets, Billy talks about the bird and everyone gives him a clap which makes him very happy. A few days later Billy brings a friend home and they see his bird in the garden.Billy realises that ...
