Big Stuff (shop)

Based on Hessle Road in Hull, East Yorkshire, the floor area of this shop is not overly large, about the equivalent of 2 small ... Read review

Big stuff for the bigger person

Advantages: Fashions and comfort
Disadvantages: needing more cash than I have

...to wear tent dresses and big cardies and with this store there is no need.

Anything that you have seen on the slimmer ladies you can find here such as the recent fashions of beaded jeans, gypsy tops etc. Even those sexy undies that we all like to wear are available here.

Then again if you what business suit or wedding outfit you can find one here. Jackets and coats are also available. They have recently ...
...The prices are very reasonable anyway but they always have a section towards the back of the shop that has reduced price items.

Because the store is for larger people, if you are a little conscious of you size and would feel awkward in a "high street " fashion shop, that aspect is taken away as most people in the shop are in the same oat as you. There are 4 lovely clean changing cubicles each with its own mirror and ... more

It's easy to end an hour or two in here...

Advantages: A one-stop shop. Provides a wide range of materials at reasonable, cheper prices.
Disadvantages: Prices can be a triple of what they should be on some ranges. Doesn't supply specialist items.

particular companies. Anyway, back to Hobbycraft! The first I walked in it was very specious and huge - literally aisles and aisles of art and craft materials, there is also an upper floor! It's easy to get lost in your little world looking at the products because you soon start conjuring up lots of ideas of what you could do, make, use with all the arts stuff that they have for sale - it's very easy to spend an hour or two in there! My first impressions, which was way back towards the end the last year, I just thought that everything was a little too expensive - prices too high and I knew I could get the same stuff cheaper from the internet and other art shops. So I just thought Hobbycraft was just another big super business creation. However, a few months (on my way to the pet shop again!) I popped in there for another browse just to get ...

Do your shopping here

Advantages: Good selection of products, own brand products are cheap
Disadvantages: Organic and forgeign products expensive

, you will get 25 points. For every 500 you acquire, you will be entitled to a £2.50 voucher. It's a good way of saving up throughout the year for Christmas. Over time, they have gained quite a selection of organic and foreign foods, which is really helpful. They're not exactly cheap, but at least you know where to go if you want certain products. Their delicatessan counter is quite varied. Selling all the 'normal' stuff like cheese, ham and salad, they also sell stuff like houmos, taramasalata and pasta etc. They have quite a variation of cheeses and hams, some cheapter than others. Although the big shopping trolleys are free for use, a £1 charge (which is returnable) is needed for the smaller shopping trolleys. I always get one of these as I never do too much shopping. Just a little story which made me laugh. As I entered ...
