I have been a regular user of the Big W Coventry since it opened up about 12months ago. I have been totally impressed thought the weekly shop after Asda every Saturday. The main thing I like about the Big W is the range of goods it sells.
What do they sell?The Big W sells practically everything you would want in and around the home. A range of body care products, garden furniture and even cloths. They sell so much because 4 high street shops own the Big W so it’s a 4 in 1! Comet, Woolworth’s, B&Q and Superdrug own the Big W.
Kitchenware.Big W supplies a large amount of kitchenware. They supply a very large amount of stainless steal items. In the kitchen section you can find the latest kettles and toasters and even the sandwich makers.
ToysThe Big W supplies toys for all ages, toys for girls and boys. In the boys section you can find the latest action men to the latest game boy. The all-new Playstation 2 can be found at the Big W for £199.99.
Sweets.The Big W has the famous Woolworth’s pic’n’mix. AT this time of year Christmas celebration boxes can be found at very cheap prices. The Big W sells every sweet you can think of.
BooksThe Big W stocks a wide range of books for all ages Inc recipe books, dictionaries. Books of nearly every subject can be found in the store. Books can be bought from around £1.50.
Stationery.As Woolworth’s is quite well known for stationery the Big W stocks all stationery you can imagine from rulers to Parker pens. Pencil cases and folders, they also stock stationery for children Inc action men and Barbie pencil cases, pencils, rulers etc.
Pet Care.Big
W sell the latest flea collars for cats and dogs at the Big W made by leading brands e.g. Bob Martin. Cat/dog food is found at big W, which goes as cheap as supermarket prices. Its not just Cat and Dog accessories at the Big W, they sell all sorts of stuff for birds, gerbil’s rabbits and even fish.
Alcohol.
The Big W also sells alcohol Inc Baileys, Barcardi and Rum. They sell a large range of alcoholic drinks at unbeatable pricesElectrical.
This is my favourite area of the store. In the electrical department you can buy the latest mobile phones and accessories. You can buy the latest Televisions, video players and hi-fis. You can buy the top 30 singles at the Big W and also the Top 50 or hundred albums.Health and beauty.
This section of the Big W is one of my favourites as they stock aftershaves which are all very reasonable and at a variety of prices. In he Health and Beauty section you can find face care products Inc spot/acne care. They stock a large range of shampoos dyes and conditioners. The health and beauty section is super drugs section of the store.Cloths.
The Big W have a large amount of cloths including some made by designer makes like Levis. They sell children’s cloths as well as adults, which are all supplied by Woolworth’s.Car Accessories
Car accessories can be found at the Big W. You can by a range of air fresheners to car oil and car cleaning polish made by Turtle and Autogloss. They stock windscreen wipers/blades, fuses, first aid kits and more. Bedding/Furniture
You can pick up beds and dressing cabinets at the Big W for very cheap, all the bedroom ware is by Woolworth’s.Cleanliness.
The shop is very clean. The store has toilets, which are kept very clean and fresh and in immaculate condition. Cleaning must be done when the store is closed as I have never ever seen a cleaner. The café, which I will go on to say, is also very clean and tidy.
Disabilities
Those with disabilities or the elderly can use the electric trolleys. The trolleys are quite big and chunky but good fun if you have a broken leg etc.The Staff.The staff at the Big W is very polite and helpful and always treat you with the respect you expect. Whatever your problem the staff the will help as best as they can whether its finding a certain product or keeping something back for a few hours.
Store layout.The stores layout is very good and most products are where you expect them to be. The store is very easy to get about, as the isles are wide to make you and your trolleys life easier. Once you have been to the same store once or twice you will soon know where everything is.
Product availability.
Products are usally found and a large amount of stock is ordered which keeps product shortage to a minimum. If there is a product which you would like to buy and its not in stock for example a bed, you will be put on a list and notified by phone when the product is in stock which I have previously used and found to be a great reliable service.The café.
Big W have their own cafeteria. In the café they sell a selection of soups, sandwiches, cakes and hot and cold drinks. In the cafeteria the prices are reasonable. Large Fizzy drink £1.00
Coffee (Mug) £0.95p
Carrot Cake (Passion Cake) £1.60
Walkers Crisps £0.29p
All cakes are FRESH and a wide choice available.
Trolleys.
Only the regular sized trolleys can be found in my local store, which are the ones, which are similar to the regular safeway/Tesco/asda regular family trolley. Most of the trolleys are kept in good working order and you don’t have to enter a pound to use one. Big W is aimed at family shopping, which means trolleys for children, who are the little cars, which the children sit in and can be pushed around the store; there is also a very small shopping area on the children’s trolleys.Value.
The value for money is the best thing about the store. As its January sales this applies to the Big W too! At discount prices the Big W have a range of products which were aimed at presents as little as ¼ price. Special deals at the moment Inc

MINUS POINT.

Overall.Overall I really enjoy shopping at The Big W, as there are such a large variety of products. This is a really good store and well worth visiting.
