Advantages: A great story Disadvantages: none
...I am a fan of Janet and Allan Ahlberg and we have several of their books such as the jolly postman and peepo. So when one fine sunny day I spotted a copy of burglar Bill by these authors for the bargain price of 10p, at the local car boot sale I snapped it up! Burglar Bill has been a firm favourite with my children ever since.
The story
************
The story is about a man named Bill who lives alone, and… you’ve guessed it, is a burglar. During the day Bill sleeps in his stolen bed after he has consumed his breakfast of stolen toast and marmalade. His house is full of stolen property. When the rest of us honest folk are in bed Bill gets up and goes to work. He steals such things as a toothbrush, That’s a nice toothbrush I’ll have that and puts it into his sack. He is also partial to tins of baked beans, hats and the odd coat...

...Bill Gates may have many talents when computing is concerned but his writing skills are very bad. Although the ideas and concepts are thought-provoking but I feel they do not come across with their full potential. This book is a look into the mind of how Bill Gates want the future to be accessed through a Windows interface - I has to be said that this book is very nearly a marketing ploy by Microsoft to convince us that we should all have Microsoft. That said, I hope the future will be like the one described here. The internet at your fingertips, superfast download speeds, intelligent fridges and a system where you can phone the cooker at home and order it to start cooking your favourite meal. A good read and will keep your imagination satisfied for ages....

Advantages: Light and entertaining Disadvantages: A little unreal
...Have you ever read any of the Catherine Cookson 'Bill Bailey' novels? If you do come accoss any of these books read them. Although the books are captivating, entertaining and witty I must admit they are very unbelievable because Bill Bailey is every woman's dream man. He is handsome, strong, protective, gentlemanly etc. He is too good to be true. Do any of us know a man that perfect?
There were parts in these novels when I did find myself getting emotional and I would also say the books are hard to put down.
Before reading these series of books I would have considered Catherine Cookson's books to be a bit like Mills and Boon but I have to admit this was an enjoyable series.
If you want some light bedtime reading - you know what book to buy....
