Advantages: The status symbol, Numerous perks Disadvantages: Expensive yearly fee, Just a chargecard
Why the American Express Platinum card ?
Well, if you have to ask that, you've missed the plot someplace. It is widely recognised as one of life's little essential status symbols. Of course, nowadays everyone has *a* Platinum card of some description or other - at last count I had 5 - and so *the* Platinum card producers had to go one step further and release a card for the mega-rich. As most of us shall never acquire mega-rich, mega-star status, the best we can hope for is to be accepted for American Express' Platinum card. Just being offered it give you that little bit of a tingle of 'I've made it'.
At least, that is what I used to think (silly me).
After around 6 years carrying the card (and before that their "Gold card for business travellers" and their Green card) I've grown up somewhat - and hopefully acquired a bit more ...
Advantages: works amazingly well on blonde hair, making it brighter and blonder Disadvantages: can make your hair take on a greyish/lilac appearance, makes your hair a bit dry

1. Id had the rectangular shaped heaters and found that although they did effectively heat up the room it took a while for you to get the full benefit of the heater, I hoped that this fan heater would be quicker at heating up the room.
2. There were two different heat settings: 350W and 700W. These would allow me to adjust the amount of heat I wanted from it depending on the weather, how long wed had the central heating on etc
3. The price! It was only £9.99. Although ...
