I bought this 2-piece corded phone in silver to use in the bedroom (it's also available in white) for £10. It's compact so does not clutter up the bedside table. It's nice looking and feels quite sturdy.
It also shows the date and time on the phone when not in use. When you make a call, the timer starts, though it is on the handset, so you have to take the phone away from your ear when you want to check how long you have been on the phone. All the other buttons are on the other side of the handset, so you need to pick up the phone to use them. There is a redial (so you can call the last number with one button), secrecy and RECALL button which you can use if there is another incoming call while you are on the phone (call-waiting). You can also store one number on the M1 button. You can keep the phone on the table or mount it on a wall. If you put the phone on the wall, then you need to reset the parking hook to hold the handset in place. There is also a hook on the top of the phone so you can hang the phone if you want to temporarily leave the handset during a call - this is for use if the phone is vertical on the wall.
***WHERE YOU CAN BUY IT***
I bought mine from argos for just under £10, they only seem to have the silver one at the moment. I have seen the white one on www.Amazon.co.uk for under £10. If you type "Binatone cliptel 200" on www.google.com you may get some better prices.
