This Binatone MD1500 cordless homephone is a very useful phone, really handy small size and with plenty of useful features. I have two different cordless phones in my house, the other is a BT F70 big bulky handset. The Binatone is by far the better phone in my opinion, other than the fact that this phone disconnects my internet when in use but that is just my connection problems...
It is a nice small phone which is comfortable to hold, well designed. Looks pretty sitting in the corner of the room too. It has an inbuilt loudspeaker which is useful for long phonecalls when your arm aches from holding it too long. The control button for the loudspeaker is the red button above the green call button. This is sometimes a bit annoying as it looks like a end call button like on a mobile phone so don't get confused.Another useful feature of the phone is that you can either type in the phone number before or after you have hit the call button. It sounds silly but it's annoying typing in half the number into other phones and just having it beep at you, I find it handy. Useful for numbers when you're trying hard to remember them and get stuck half way..
Also the phone has a stored phonebook in the phone to display who is calling you when it starts ringing. If you have the number stored to somebody then it will bring up the name you have entered, if not it will bring up the number. The quality of speech you can hear on this phone is by far better on this phone than my other phone. It is easy to hear what others are saying and they seem to be able to hear me quite clearly too. As well as this, the reception range is quite good, it reaches all around my little semi-detached house and half way up the garden. It has a few funny patches that don't have good reception but in general it is good. Probably reaches around 20 metres I would have thought. Better reception nearer though obviously.
It has a really good battery life, it can probably survive a few days without being on the stand and by the time it needs to be replaced upon the stand it will bleep at you to let you know..I think the phone in my house was bought at Argos so it should be available from there, if not then it should be available online. This is well worth having as a housephone. Neat little phone. Good value for money.
