Advantages: Cheap, reliable, versatile, range, looks Disadvantages: Sound quality OK but could be better
...Having recently started a new photography business, we've been looking into various ways of communicating with customers.
Having a very small start-up budget, we are always looking to reduce costs. By subscribing to Skype for around £2.50/month we receive unlimited UK calls to landlines and our own phone number with a local prefix of our choice - bargain!
A much cheaper (and more flexible) option than having a 'second line' installed for business use. However, microphones and earphones are no way to talk to customers when you're rumaging through photographs! So we needed a solution. The BinatoneS1545 is it!
Combined with Skype, all the time our PC is on and connected to the net (which is most of the time) we have a dedicated phone line for the business. What's more - we can forward calls to another number, make outgoing calls...

Advantages: Cheap Disadvantages: Lack of enhanced functions
...Introduction
At work, we still live in the dark ages where wired telephones are very much the norm. In our office however, we have dedicated support PC's which we constantly need to move to from our own PC's. As it was getting silly with trailing wires all over the office floor, the boss decided to buy us a new hands free phone kit. The kit he went for was the Binatone E800 twin set. Setup

Advantages: Lots of channels to talk to lots of people with similar radios. Disadvantages: The weather can reduce the reception.
...These radios can be used for work, sport, play and sercurity. They have a farely good range of up to 3km, but this can drop if there are buildings in the way or the weather is bad. The features, ringtones and VOX technology are good, and they come with a free battery re-charger and hands free kits. I mainly use these for play and i've noticed that not only can you buy more twin packs, you can also buy different radios that will work together, which boosts the amount of available ringtones. You can lock the keypad, adjust the volume and change lots of settings. The hands free kits plug straight in and all you have to do is turn on VOX, which will activate the PTP (press to talk) button as soon as it detects noise. You can change how loud this noise has to be to work. It also features a stopwatch, though not a clock, which can be annoying...
