...I opted for a White Binatone Trend Telephone from Argos (now there’s a surprise!). Being the lowest priced telephone in the catalogue coming it at an amazing £6.99 I was quite prepared to give this one a whirl so you can imagine finding that it was on sale in the shop at a mere £4.99 was even better.
OK so this model doesn’t sing and dance and being a one-piece set doesn’t offer as much freedom to jaw whilst you wander ... ...signal and crackly lines from a few cordless phones that claim they do it all and come with a price tag to show it I’m more than happy so settle for a little less this time around.
This phone comes in a range of 5 colours being, White, Blue, Green, Yellow and the rather trendy Translucent Blue for those trend-setters amongst us, so there’s ample choice to suit anyone’s desire.
Following the break down of my BT Quartet Cordless telephones I decided that cheap was indeed more cheerful and more than capable of fulfilling the duties of any standard telephone.

OK so this model doesn’t sing and dance and being a one-piece set doesn’t offer as much freedom to jaw whilst you wander around the house but, having previously experienced problems with poor signal and crackly lines from a few cordless phones that claim they do it all and come with a price tag to show it I’m more than happy so settle for a little less this time around.

The facilities available are; last number re-dial, recall, hi/lo ringing volume, secrecy and it also comes complete with wall-fixings (2 raw plugs and screws to you and me) and of course space on the base to jot down your most frequently dialled numbers.
For a basic phone I would give it 10/10 all round but if you like a little more luxury in your handset and a few more gimmicks to boot then you need to flick a few pages further on and be prepared to shed a little extra cash.
After only recently having had a phone line put into our flat and having to put up with an old cast off phone from my parents (which kept cutting out due to a dodgy cable) we decided to fork out and buy a new one! A quick browse through the handy Argos catalogue told us that you could get a fairly reasonable phone for a very cheap price. We really only wanted one to make basic calls on and nothing too fancy.

It comes in a simple small box big enough just to fit the receiver and the cables it comes with. There is a small instruction booklet also contained within.
