Bio Synergy Skinny Water
Why did I buy this? I bought this at Superdrug in Decembre 2008 and was drawn to it like a moth to a flame. The word "Skinny" just jumped into my face. I have gone through immense trouble to loose a lot of weight in the last few years and now everything that claims to keep me skinny gets my attention straight away - please give me kudos for being so honest ;) The bright turquoise colour of the bootle also caught my attention.
The bottle As I mentioned before, the bottle is kept in bright turquoise and really jumps at you. The writing is yellow and red and the cap is red. The word "bio" is see-through so you can have a look at the 'skinny water'. In yellow writing it says "skinny water - naturally enriched" with a picture of a measuring tape saying "slimming aid" in yellow next to it. The right writing says "Unique formula containing L-Carnitine and Chromium to reduce sugar cravings & improve the body's ability to burn fat - Water with a hint of Pomegranate & with sweetener - No added sugar". On the back of the bottle is an awful lot of writing that aims to persuade you of it's usefuleness. "Bio-Synergy Skinny Water is a spring water that has been enhanced with a unique combination of ingredients to help YOU lose and maintain YOUR weight. Skinny Water's ingredients have been shown to suppress appetite, block carbohydrates from making it the perfect compliment to a healthy lifestyle." There are also some "Did you know?"-information bits telling us that "L-Carnitine is found naturally in the body where it assists turning fat into energy" and that Chromium helps burn carbohydrates and reduce sugar cravings. The bottle contains 500ml. The beverage is suitable for vegetarians.

The Taste There defenitely was something of a taste - but I wouldn't go as far as saying it was a pleasant taste of pomegranate. I tasted something sweet, but it was more like a very weak and stale mix of berries and lemons. It was not very refreshing nor tasty.
Does it work? Well - I guess to see if it helps you to stay slim or even get slimmer, i'd have to try it out long-term, but I only tried two bottles. At £0.99 a bottle it is not terribly expensive, but not cheap enough to have two bottles every day, so even if I had it available close to me I wouldn't drink it all the time for the sake of my wallet. Still, I did notice that it reduced my appetite in the same way as the cranberry slimming water from Tesco does. The water somehow feels like it coats my tongue and that slightly confuses my tastebuds. That effect does help and stays for about half an hour, so I recommend buying a bottle and taking little sips throughout the day.
